Perhaps Pussay could enlighten us on the Dutch system I have Dutch friends who say it is good?

So does the U.K. You may choose private healthcare if you wish?

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

You can choose private healthcare but if you are a productive individual but you are still paying for free healthcare and "social protection"for numerous others many of which have no incentive to be productive (either financially or socially).

It's the disease of the west.

I meant that in many countries you can choose your doctor / treatment from the National Insurance contributions you make not the same as paying additionally for private care.

I'm not so sure any more.

I made an appointment to see my GP yesterday and the earliest they could fit me in was exactly a month away

Same here - five weeks is not unusual. I think it’s the waiting times which will kill the NHS off.
A huge percentage of GP visits could be replaced by a machine which dispenses antibiotics as that’s all they seem to prescribe. There have also been occasions where the doctor has given out prescriptions for proprietary medicine it’s cheaper to buy in the chemists.

Former UKIP leader Nigel Farage also has a record of backing NHS privatisation.

"I think we're going to have to think about healthcare very, very differently, " he said in 2012.

"I think we are going to have to move to an insurance-based system of healthcare."

He went on: "Frankly, I would feel more comfortable that my money would return value if I was able to do that through the market place of an insurance company than just us trustingly giving £100bn a year to central government and expecting them to organise the healthcare service from cradle to grave for us."

Is he not aloud an opinion different to yours. If he wants to privatise the NHS and get voted in on that manefesto what is your issue?

My view is that those who claim to oppose ‘Private healthcare' are really opposed to the principles of patient choice.

I have private health care and that is my choice.Saves me being a further burden on the NHS !

My issue is a.) Same people are saying we should leave EU as they will privatise the NHS and b) another person said he never said that

We are leaving the EU based on lies, misconceptions and downright stupidity

It is one of life's misfortunes that so many of the UK's population just aren't as intelligent as you obviously are

"a.) Same people are saying we should leave EU as they will privatise the NHS and b) another person said he never said that"

What do you mean? You have a trade union official concerned that the EU would privatize the NHS and then you are saying Farage has said that he would like to see the NHS privatized. They have different opinions but both want to leave the EU. Maybe both the EU and Farage would like to privatize the NHS, so what?

Does that mean you have to agree with the lady who was concerned about having no sandwiches in Pret or every other remain argument?

How does any of this equate to "lies, misconceptions and downright stupidity"? What you are saying is that every argument to leave is wrong and every argument to remain is correct.

That's such a typically socialist position.

If we leave the EU that has nothing to do with who is in government in the UK. We could leave the EU and have a Labour government who want to keep the NHS.

I'll ask you again. If the brexit party want to privatise the NHS and win an election on that promise do you have a problem with that democratic vote?
