I loathe Jess Phillips on all sorts of levels but the comment she is offended by is pretty reprehensible. Not a criminal matter but also not a positive indicator about the person who posted it either.

Hmmm. Holding a second vote in Turkey is "Dictatorship". But holding a second vote in the UK is democracy???? It is not a correct analogy. Whatever happens in Turkey is totally different. Since Istanbul Council elections were completed with a narrow margin win by opponents, government kept challenging with invalid reasons by applying to Elections committee and their reasons were rejected. Few of them were accepted and at some certain areas, they reviewed votes but it didn`t change the result. Finally, they found a loophole to put pressure on Elections committee and have approval that the elections will be repeated. However, funny things is that if this loophole (*) is accepted, all previous elections (including regime change referendum) should have been cancelled. The other funny things is that there were 3 different votes in the elections and only one of them has been canceled (*) There is supposed to be a rule that auditors at polling poles should not be working for private sector..Few of them was working in private sector. Question remains that why the same committee accepted them as an auditor. Edited by blackheatheagle (07 May 2019 1.31pm)

Yeah, we aren't going to agree on this obviously. If we have reached the stage that the negation of something becomes offensive then.....well that was his point...he was winding up the politically correct....and the awful Jess Phillips in particular. There is context to that tweet that the media aren't interested in making known. Edited by Stirlingsays (07 May 2019 1.35pm)

Edited by Stirlingsays (07 May 2019 1.35pm) Agreed, it was deliberately and carefully worded to cause offence but could in no way to be construed as a threat. It was a publicity stunt from 3 years ago making the point that context and intent is important and not just "words". Something that's entirely lost (or set aside) by the mainstream media when it doesn't suit their political bias. What we should really be focusing on is why they would have any political bias in the first place. Carl Benjamin has also been highlighting the fact that apologizing for offence in the current climate is a mistake as this is just a tactic to remove people from the debate (as it's just the first step of many towards being vilified) . It's an interesting experiment if nothing else and someone has to stand up to the left's control of language and accepted narrative as it grows ever narrower.

I'm struggling with what she is getting upset about "I wouldn't even rape you" I should hope he wouldn't rape her! Are we now finding reverse psychology offensive. Or are the left choosing to be upset?

Ah, the party who had a leader that paid someone to murder his gay lover and another who covered up the fact that one of his MPs was a known paedophile and another who had to resign when it was made public that he was a pisshead No wonder the lib dems gained 700 seats. They appear to have all the attributes of success in government.
