Roy in. I just don't know what I would read to brighten up my day other than a post match plastic fan melt. Some of this stuff written about Roy Hodgson is so off-fact it makes Mr Dodgson's writings sensible! True. Common sense seems to be at a premium on these boards nowadays.

There's a huge leap of faith between asking the manager to not play 36 games in a row with 3 defensive midfielders, and what you are claiming people are demanding. But it's been explained to people like you hundreds of times and you just can't/won't understand the very important nuisance. It's clear Roy will try exactly the same tactics as today in our upcoming fixtures, 2 wins in 13 games (against the team in 19th and 20th) and he hasn't sought to change anything. Do you really think that if we do exactly the same thing again then the result will suddenly change? I've already posted my opinions about things being very stale and our survival being far from a foregone. You spout so much pointless bile on here day in day out about the manager I don't take too much notice of any of your explanations ta.

I do so agree. It’s become really tiresome.

I don't know what else you can say about Roy at this point. The players have quit on him. He's lost the plot. After West Ham went ahead 3-1, with 30 minutes left, the announcer said, "And that should do it." As if the prospect of us scoring 2 goals in 30 minutes was beyond any possibility. Which of course, it is. Also later, the other announcer started to try to figure out what our plan was and finally said something like, "I have no idea what they are trying to do." That sums up Roy. I appreciate his service, but if we don't get relegated, it won't be any credit to him or the players, it will only be because there are 3 teams who are more pathetic sh-t than us. He's ruining Eze, he never plays Bats, SP has to be fed up with him too. Our last 10 games, we have won 1 game, against Sheffield. No one could do worse than this with our current roster, except maybe FDB, and we won't hire him again. Roy out.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

The big thing saving Roy this season is no fans. A full Selhurst would have kicked off last night. Would not have been pretty.

Ok, so my thoughts, for what it is worth. Roy has to go. Its just not working. For what it is worth, I would get Freedman to step up as interim. If anything, he would clean up the defence and he knows what it means to the fans. I would look at Howe, Lampard and I would understand that they will want a project. We have to match their ambitions, however, be sensible about it too. For Howe, he hasn't succeeded outside of Bournemouth and would be seen as a good manger even if dropped a division. Lampard, he has a point to prove, but is he experienced enough or will he have that around him. I would offer it to Howe first with a goal tom rebuild the club. Top to bottom, to level the books, bring in youth and not be held hostage to the league. Not so much work on a budget, but to get best bang for our buck. To set a record each season - 40 points in record time. To enjoy the football and use the community. That's my palace DNA.

He has, in my opinion, failed at management. I don’t even know why he’s at our club. He would be a disaster. I mean, I can’t stand the bloke anyway but to manage an established PL team is way above his ability - especially when there are proper managers - like Eddie Howe - out there. Although I’d look at Rafa but suspect he wouldn’t come, given our buying policy. I suspect, however, Freedman is what will happen as he’s cheap, already on the payroll and for some absolutely inexplicable reason it appears Parish loves him. I wouldn’t have even let him back in the door in the first place but to manage the team will be an unmitigated disaster - even for a few months, in my view.

Our defensive discipline and shape (supposedly Hodgson’s strengths) have deserted us for much of the season.

The one great thing done this season was to hit the ground running when others didn't. Those are nine points we definitely wouldn't win now. Last night was one of several games where we've looked absolutely appalling. Let's see how we do against an out-of-sorts Wolves on Saturday.
I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything. |
