Ridiculous providing these staff are working in the NHS they should get treatment free they will be paying taxes. On the subject of charging I cannot understand why nurses have to pay to be trained. As long as they pass and work in the NHS for say 5 years then I would cancel their tuition fees. We need to encourage more people into the system not the other way around. Yep.

Willo May isn't the problem, it just she is always in the line of fire, people are fed up with the whole political establishment. All your conservative chums are incompetent buffoons and not fit to govern Agreed. Thank god we have Corbyn, Abbott and McDonnell towering over the rest of the pygmies they never make a mistake. Or as Nick Ferrari put it what has the Marxist leader of a party riven with anti-Semitism to offer the country. By the way Abbott is not the only one who has problems with numbers on election night McDonnell predicted Labour would increase their seats by 400! Hmmm

The press got in and spun it more to mean Leadsome meant May can’t have children, which she can’t. I’d have wanted Leadsome for what is a term to just oversee Brexit, and even though she had little to no govt/ministerial experience, there’s been precious little of it anyway. There were also claims that she doctored her CV and she was subject to a level of scrutiny she had never experienced before. She also received some strident text messages from colleagues criticising her and it would have been hard for her to govern without reliable backing from Tory MPs, even if the members had been enraptured.

A snap survey of Conservative members has revealed that 82% want May to go and for a leadership election to start immediately.Certainly this echoes the views of my numerous Tory cronies.

As long as they pass and work in the NHS for say 5 years then I would cancel their tuition fees. We need to encourage more people into the system not the other way around. As my wife is currently a student nurse I can clarify this for you. Nursing used to be grant based but now, like so many other university courses, asks the students to pay via a "student loan". The idea that this is a loan, as most of us understand it, is incorrect. It is really a type of increased taxation to be paid by the highest earners. Only when a graduate qualifies and starts to earn above a threshold will they even start repaying the "loan". This remains a small figure for moderate earners and any balance is eventually wiped out if you don't reach very high earnings. It's a way of ensuring that those who gain the most from their education pay for it, and that's very unlikely to impact any but the most senior nurses. The downside is that there is a sword of Damocles hanging over their heads for 30 years!
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |
