Well if what you claim is true (and I suspect it isn't), Steve Parish is talking garbage. There is no way on earth they would've casually thrown that in at the last second. Nuno's team has followed him everywhere, Parish & Freedman aren't morons. A more credible suggestion would be that perhaps they threw in another staff member or two in combination with a number of other outlandish demands. Perhaps these "members of staff" undermined already existing members at Palace, such as DF etc. ? If a large slice of the playing staff was to be given over to the new manager it would be a difficult decision.

After watching the Palace documentary I have completely faith in Parish to get it right. Nuno seemed to be a waste of space considering he hasn’t set the world alight. Wolves last season looked ordinary and Parish rightly did not want to dismantle the existing system to fit Nuno in. Any incoming manager while being allowed to bring in a number two can’t be allowed to replace the back room staff who have been loyal servants of Palace for years. Hats off to Parish for rewarding loyalty I agree that Mr Parish has our club's interest and future very much at the forefront in his negotiations for Roy's replacement. Keen as I was on Santo, his late demands were out of order and Mr Parish was absolutely right to stand his ground. Santo has lost favour with most of us as a result of his dodgy dealings. My interest has turned to Frank (not Thomas unfortunately, the other one). I asked the question earlier although it wasn't picked up and forgive me if I've missed it, but has he previously been ruled out or is he still potentially available?
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Lampard brings a `name` to Palace that does attract players and he will have a greater range of contacts etc within the game just because of who he is. The question is does this make up for his tactical deficiencies? And it's not just my opinion that this is based on : [Link] It's worth a read. Personally I'd rather steer clear of Lampard as I just don't think we have the personnel to play his style and trying to bring in and integrate lots of new players to do so seems just too much of a stretch. And, even if we did do all that his trams are too open defensively and that is a recipe for disaster for us. The more I read up on the 3 most likely candidates (Lampard, Cooper and Ismael) The more I feel we have personnel who would work in Ismael's style whilst it would also scratch the itch of being more attractive to watch. Does Cooper not have contacts with English youth players?

Seems to be lots of hints being dropped from various sources which imply that Nuno may have been given a nod by Everton. This was probably already his preferred destination. He may even have only been speaking to us to force their hand. Could well be that the sudden escalation of demands was with the intention of making us withdraw.
Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that. |

I have seen comments that there is a split at Everton, with the owner wanting Nuno and the DoF looking at other candidates. If Nuno takes over at Everton then the DoF might as well leave.

There must be underlying problems at Everton. They have had some superb managers, spent bundles every year on decent players and how much success have they got to show for it, not even a sweet FA cup.

Cooper I don't think has the charisma to come into an established premier league club and inspire the players. Let him earn the right to manage in the top flight where he is, that's the best favour we can do him Nuno like Howe and Freedman before, blotted his copy book by having his head turned. Move on

This could all end in tears. Apparently they have bought the club in similar fashion to how the Glazier's purchased Man U. This means they'll have to pay back the loan using Burnley's future profits. Thanks, tears it is then.
