The trouble is, contract or not, if a player really wants to go he will. Whilst players can't make a club sell them they do have the right to down tools and not give 100% I hear this trotted out every season. How did sulking work out for Saido Berahino? Wilf has said this stuff and then got a better contract before.

The media have no news and Wilf is the perfect target for their efforts to provide news - the only problem is it’s not factual ! We don’t need to sell him or WB. They both have long contracts. They are both happy at Palace. Next year we could push on to finish even higher. If Wilf went to one of our top 6 he wouldn’t be guaranteed regular games - just look at Mahrez!

skysports news just regurgitating his interview with the mail last month. Nothing new. The report said that he has officially asked to leave. That is not a regurgitation but a new development. The previous 20 or so pages of this thread are all speculative.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle This post has been merged from a topic called 'Zaha wants out' by Midlands Eagle I can see why he wants to test himself at the highest level, but I wonder whether he will cut it. Firstly, he will have to get used to not being the team week in, week out (even players like De Bruyne, David Silva and sometimes Aguero don't play every match). Will his game be affected by interruptions on a regular basis ? Secondly, he needs to curb his reactions. The opposition know exactly how to wind him up. Top teams are not going to accept a player who cost £40-60 million being put off his game and possibly being sent off. Lastly, he can have a tendency to drift out of games especially if he getting no joy. The Liverpool game at Selhurst at the start of last season, he was ineffective against Alexander-Arnold. I can't see big clubs spending more than £40m on him, and if Palace want more then the situation could become very tricky.

Sky Sports News have been known to make up stories in the past and reading the article it is written in a style that doesn't state facts but implies that they might be true

The quote ‘I see myself playing in the champions league’ is attached to them all.It was him responding to a question. If Wilf had wanted to leave he shouldn’t have signed a 5 year deal last season.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle This post has been merged from a topic called 'Zaha wants out' by Midlands Eagle I can't believe how easily people buy into these stories. Imagine just for a moment that his agent is instructing him to say he wants Champions League football so he is offered a better contract...again. If he leaves you can all say I told you so, but in the meantime, just relax.

And what you say is generally a lot of crap. It amuses me that some fans seem to actively encourage our most gifted player ever out of the club.

Getting Jules, Punch and Sako off the payroll for starters frees up some cash but aside from that the rumours suggest the cupboard is down to the last tin of beans. We would need to sell one or both if we want to make major signings otherwise it will be loans and freebies again. Regardless of contracts if either Wilf or AWB want to go then let them. We can't afford to pay huge wages for people who don't want to be here
