I think the only way to handle this is by ourselves, internally and that the only way to do that is to change people's minds and behaviour, over time and through education. The legal status of people obviously has no bearing on perceptions and vice versa. On that we agree. I would go further and say that is probably as important an issue as finding and punishing the criminals. Which is why we need to act sensitively and not allow political capital to be made out of this. It's too important.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

Meanwhile back on topic. It has been said that May and Corbyn can't agree on anything but I don't think that's true. They are both fans of the same sweet, Fudge. It sounds like May is kicking the can down the road until after Thursday's humiliating council elections when she will then cave in to Labour's demands. It's incredible that the overwhelming majority of Tory members want her gone but rather than listen to them she is prepared to side with the opposition. The World Turned Upside Down.* *Little joke for our American cousins.

There's no point ousting May, if you sent in someone like Boris it would just make things worse When you say side with the opposition you mean reach a compromise that can get through Parliament?

Labour's solution is not Brexit so if May agrees to that most Tory voters will see it as a betrayal. I would get rid of May put in a proper Tory and hold a "Back me or sack me" general election. If they won we would leave immediately under WTO rules and then try and negotiate with the EU.

I think she’s right. We need to keep flooding the country with cheap casual workers. More and more of them I say so the more fortunate from the desirable areas to live in can get the benefits. What are we thinking?

The labour 'establishment', the NEC are not quite as bad as the tories, but you wouldn't want to be ruled by their dead authoritarian hand. Their duplicity is legendary, Blair did well to sideline them and appeal to the public and win 3 elections.

Really is she for real even the most hard line Brexiteer politicians have never said that. Then we get to what she is really worried about who will serve her coffee in Prets. I can only assume she is an undercover agent for Brexiteers I can't believe any Remainer is that stupid. But if she is really that worried about her coffee she shouldn't be in a very short time the workers will be replaced by self service machines.
