Lets just hope Everton dont come knocking . I'd be surprised if they replaced one ex-PL midfield great early into his management career with another - Vieira would be an enormous gamble. Oddschecker don't even have Vieira listed but they do have Pardew, Sol Campbell, Gerrard, and bringing Benitez back... If they did pinch Vieira, I reckon we'd have Dyche in the door within 5 minutes and, to be honest, don't think we'd necessarily be any worse off.

I really don't know what's up with everyone expecting perm deals this window. We know the drill as we've had plenty of practice at being disappointed in January transfer window over the last 10 years...they've already said we haven't got a pot to piss in and would have to look at loans...rock all will happen, and we'll have to wing it to the end of the season again. We might as well all put our devices down and login again next Wednesday and see where we are then... Edited by HesHereHesThere (24 Jan 2023 8.51pm)

Sorry but if a horrible little club like Bournemouth on their 10k crowds can chuck money around in January then we ought to be able to do permanent deals with 10 years behind us in this league !!

They have new owners. All good reasons why they're forced to spend above the odds in a traditionally difficult window to do good deals.

I too would have thought that, and I thought when leaving Wembley all those years ago after winning promotion that if we could stay up that first season and with a bit of shrewd management it would be the making of us…. But 10 seasons later and with over £1bn quid we’ve seemed to have fvcked it right up.

Or alternatively, we’ve spent close to f*** all compared to some of the wealthiest clubs on the planet and some others with sugar daddy owners and we’ve still got by relatively comfortably and we now have a top notch academy bang in the middle of one of the biggest talent pools in Europe.

FORMER CRYSTAL PALACE STRIKER ALEXANDER SORLOTH CAN’T STOP SCORING IN SPAIN. Sorloth famously started just four Premier League games during the most forgettable of spells at Selhurst Park. Though a tally of 12 goals in just 16 starts at Sociedad is proof of how effective this powerhouse centre-forward can be.

Report on the BBC (I know) that PV is becoming increasingly frustrated about Palace lack of activity in the transfer window. If he walks we won’t get another manager without giving them a transfer kitty - so just give it to Pat, surely?
