Everything they do, and everything they say.

They have the unfortunate advantage of being wrong, all the time.

The slide in the economy in particular is not going to get better because they say so, without any evidence.

The media now a chat room for failed conservatives, hide, squirm, avoid wriggle at the thought of having to mention the dreaded b-word.

A grotesque mis-calculation, worse than Suez.

Leave in haste, now repent at leisure.

Soon Brits will be casting envious eyes at Le Continent, as they did before, poorer and backward as we are becoming.

The three major powers in the world, the United States, China and the EU, will carve up what growth there is, as we have seen in the Truss experiment, the UK does not even have control of its own economy.

It must be awful to be young.

If I genuinely thought the EU had the political leadership and vision to promote it as a 'major' power, I would happily rejoin tomorrow.

But ponder this. The only way the EU could ever become a major power would be by welcoming Russia into the fold. Do that, and suddenly the world is literally at the EU's feet. Energy independence, space for expansion, a whole raft of advantages and elevate it above both the US and China in an instant.

Instead, we have an EU effectively cut off from Russia. And a state of affairs that the Anglosphere have engineered.

You want the EU to be a true 'super-power' then I am all ears as to how that happens because at the moment it is effectively ham-strung.

And no amount of virtue signalling will alter that straightforward fact.

Just so we know what we walked out on:-

The EU is the largest economy in the world. Although growth is projected to be slow, the EU remains the largest economy in the world with a GDP per head of €25,000 for its 440 million consumers.

The EU is the world's largest trading bloc. The EU is the world’s largest trader of manufactured goods and services.

The EU ranks first in both inbound and outbound international investments.

The EU is the top trading partner for 80 countries. By comparison, the US is the top trading partner for a little over 20 countries.

The EU is the most open to developing countries. Fuels excluded, the EU imports more from developing countries than the USA, Canada, Japan and China put together.

What utter crap.

Britain's economy will always be affected by bigger economies and global markets.

You Remainers continue to whine because you know that your only opportunity to fool people is while the economy is in a rut.
You do this knowing full well that it has nothing to do with Brexit.

If you love Europe so much. Go and live there.

I'm not even that sure that Steely was that much of a remainer either.

I think Steely just wants to burn it down.

Kind of the Antifa pensioner aesthetic.....Like a male version of Mariam Margolyes....thing is I kind of like that rebellious spirit....even if it's the wrong politics and as loopy as hell.

Weren't our record levels of inflation and unemployment while we had open access this treasure trove?

Yes I'd love to see such figures as well. And whatever is produced must factor in covid and Ukraine as anomalies. A fiendishly difficult task if not impossible.

And then as sure as night follows day there will be a highly politicisized battle of interpretation. Brexiteers will blame any negatives on execution and them pesky foreigners. Remainers will doubtless do the same but based on different criteria.

The statos who worked so hard on producing the figures will wonder why they bothered.

It's impossible to be 100% accurate sure, but someone must have attempted it. Otherwise lobbing in absolutisms in this debate, whether pro/anti-EU, doesn't serve any useful purpose.

But as you say, even if the figures pointed one way or the other, it's so ideological that I doubt reason would allow anyone to follow the research.

I'd probably accept it as a decent guide either way, because it's more credible than Brian from Southports two pence dross.

Very likely a fair assessment.

The left, liberals, greens and some conservatives are all Europeanized, they all toe the Brussels line on any issue and are anti-British. They are ashamed of their own nationality, they feel that there is something disgraceful in being English and feel that it is their duty to s****** at every English institution. They would feel more ashamed of standing to attention during ‘God save the King’ than of shop-lifting from a supermarket. They chip away at English morale, trying to spread an outlook that is anti-British and anti-American while being staunchly patriotic about the undemocratic, racketeering EU.

[For some reason the word snig**r has been censored!]

Interesting from ex-bank chief Mervyn King tonight.

The UK has the lowest level of savings in the G20, lower than places like Argentina or Brazil.

Why does it matter? Because it means that we are not saving but borrowing to produce investment and produce growth.

To produce any growth at all we will be borrowing ever more.

So it is a 'shoot yourself in the foot' equation.

As for brexit he says that brexiteers simply did not have any plan and do not have any idea what to do.

Lowest? Doesn't look like it.
