On friday, a shocking video was released by sos whitstable shows what appears to be raw sewage lapping the beach in Tankerton, a total of nine kent beaches could havepolluted waters due to sewage discharge caused by recent storms, said environmental agency spokesman.people have reported seeing dark stains in the sea,and foul smells. You do know the difference between poo, piss, and grey water that we can water our pplants with dont you? Funny, your new leader, lizzy, was the lady responsible for cutting the money, 200 odd million, in keeping checking the beaches were clean- she put her truss-no punn intended in the water companies to police themselves! Keep voting mate!

Keep voting mate! I’m going by what I read. If it is raw foul water then yes it’s very wrong. Although it won’t take long for it to clear it’s still wrong. Why has my voting preference got to do with this particular issue. In life you delegate responsibility to others and hope they use due diligence and correct actions. Do you honestly think that hmg gave the green light to do this. Hmg delegate as do all political parties. The nhs is overseen by politics but decisions are made farther down the food chain for an example. It’s not necessarily what the government of the day want to happen within departments but it’s the way it is.

It should be in the CONincompetence thread, letting the water companies police themselves is incompetence- simples!

Most sensible analysts predict there will be a peak of more or less where we are now then coming down progressively towards the middle of next year, it's not going to be fun for anyone, those on low fixed incomes will need direct financial support but it will be temporary as things tend to be. It's a global issue, and, the inflation numbers are very manipulated with what is measured according to what result you want. Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

We should certainly be lowering the price cap on energy otherwise a lot of people will have a very tough Winter.

The winter prices this winter are unavoidable...the vulnerable are going to suffer with a percent not getting through it...it happens every year just not as much....let's hope for a mild winter. With gas, aside from the smallish North sea contribution we buy our gas on the open market....mostly from Norway....I'm not seeing how that can really be 'capped' so to speak, That's why energy independence is so valuable, as there is no competition to raise the price. We can hope for more governmental assistance in the form of payments I suppose. People decided...as with covid measures....to go with governmental policy on the Ukraine war...helped massively by selective media reporting.....and these are essentially the consequences....it's not as if this wasn't being said months ago. Personally I was opposed to both policies and I'm as p1ssed off with what's, very expensively, coming down the pipe as the next man. Edited by Stirlingsays (24 Aug 2022 12.43pm)

However, you don't pay your taxes...that have been considerably increased over the years for most of us....so that your standard of living lowers. That at the very least gives cause for inquiry. The question could be asked just what practical improvements have been gained from the last generation of government? Hasn't it just been managed decline? Lots of waffle and arguing about tax levels while everything else burns. That's indicative of managerial failure, which in turn is indicative of problems within the meritocratic system. For example, the idea that we should have no expectation that technology moves forward and improves just isn't countenanced by people....Mainly because we expect it to improve because money is invested within it....and it continually improves. While this isn't the only problem I have with them, nevertheless, likewise with our politicians....the thought should occur to people of where the funding money at the high level comes from. Where the future jobs for these politicans will be...what their incentives are...where their motivations and loyalties are bound to. Words are distractions, actions are truth. Don’t see many complaints about the green stealth tax actually creating most of this.
