We have a reputation to defend and as it's one of the only things we have left in our locker we risk a lot if we act like a banana republic.

When smokin joe is firmly in the white house, and boris tries to dishonour the agreement he signed on Ireland in january, and gets told theres no deal to be had with our greatest pals the usa- we might have nowhere to go and have to get on our knees to talk to the european union- just saying!.......... There's a few issues with that. Biden won't be inaugurated until 21st January 2021. We have already left the EU and the new trade agreement starts on the 1st January. If a deal is done before hand, then it's a mute point. The current withdrawal agreement already arguably breaches the peace process, and impacts on the sovereignty of another nation. With all the issues the EU had on its other boarders they won't want to open that can of worms. Then, when it comes to trade, American and EU business aren't going to be happy if they can't sell their goods in Britain (70million customers) over an ideological argument with Ireland (3milliom customers).

You must have your eyes shut or only focussed on Fox, Breitbart and Infowars then because what you suggest is just untrue. It's the kind of repetitive garbage you find on any Trump-supporting sites. Assertions and conspiracy theories which repeat and amplify the lies which spill out of Trump on a daily basis. If that is to go with "what my eyes see not what someone else tells me I see" then you might need to relearn the meaning of the English language because it isn't. You are repeating what you have been told. Maybe you are not even aware of that.

We have a reputation to defend and as it's one of the only things we have left in our locker we risk a lot if we act like a banana republic. This is absolute drivel and the UN has been a sick joke in many regards for a long time. For example, on September 20, 2015 the UN elected Saudi Arabia as chair of a key UN Human Rights Council panel. The House of Saud run their country with hardly any serious regard to human rights....and that's coming from a social conservative like me. Indeed, they could compete with ISIS for beheading people. That shows you how much respect the UN deserve. The UN are only good for their networks and distributing aid.....that's about it. Edited by Stirlingsays (12 Nov 2020 9.49pm)

You appear to have missed the point as usual.

International co-operation is essential and the USA withdrawing was a disastrous example to others which has set the programme back years and will ultimately cost everyone, in the USA as much as elsewhere, more. This cost must be paid as the cost of not doing it is incalculable. The rest of your claims are just Trump-style fear mongering. Let's see in a couple of years. The US economy is going to take a hit because of the legacy of Covid inaction being passed by Trump to Biden. People may need to be reminded of that though, just as they needed to be reminded of the economic legacy Trump inherited from Obama. Check the facts about blacks in jail under obama with Harris pulling the strings. I think they bought in the 3 strike rule but stand to be corrected.
