It's entirely his choice if he wants to go or not. He has another year left on his contract, nobody can force him to go to China if he doesn't want to. There's no way he would be benched or marginalized because we can't afford to do that. Roy would continue to use him and try and build on some of the better performances we were seeing towards the end of last season. Originally posted by Eaglecoops

Maybe a loan for a season, even if we have to pay half his wages will release 65k a week to loan someone else

let's face it, he's been a disappointment during his time with us. if he wants to dick with us, it's our opportunity to show him and other players what they get if they try this on. bench him, bring him on when we're losing 5-0 away at Man City, slag him off on press conferences...play a youth team player ahead of him. see how much he earns in a year's time then.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

What exactly has he done to deserve that? If he doesn't want to move to China it's entirely his choice. Why is that "dicking with us"? Originally posted by Ginger Pubic Wig

If the player disrespects the club you drop them and tell them not to come to training, keep the bad influence away from the pack. No need to be malicious and seek to publicly humiliate him. That'll just turn the squad to his cause. He's in all the promotional shots of the new kit so the club clearly thing he's of value and the player is still willing to front us up. You've just got to drop him for someone better (who?) and coach and support him as he works to regain his place, simple as that. Playing to the lad's strength like Arsenal away every now and again might help too. Geezer is a head on a stick, why pass to feet or have him tanking about in channels or picking the ball up with his back to goal 30 years out? I’m not suggesting this as a solution, but I can’t think of any other business where a commodity at 2.5 million a month (Gareth Bale ) that isn’t wanted by the parent company could just sit there earning £600 grand a week for the next few years.

Yeah, professional clubs will really start offing players... sure intimidation probably occurs and we all know football is dodgy AF, just look at the whole Sala/Cardiff fiasco, as one example, but then look at the protection Ronaldo has gotten after the USA are after him for the rape allegations, not to forget the tax situations. bloke has a right to say no, he hasn't been a dick about it, he just needs to score..

That's per week! Absolutely. That scenario suggested the weakness of the club's strategy in not having adequate back-up in the forward area.
