He’s just too good for you.

I'm just about more pleased he passed for Andros to score as it showed how much he's matured re decision making -- also the reaction of Andros (you can just see him instantly pointing at Wilf in one of the replays) and the camera following Wilf behind the goal then finally the total mobbing of him by most of the team and the joyous celebration in the Holmesdale.

As soon as Wilf got on the ball you knew something special was about to happen.

Great way to finish the season.

to be honest, if wilf does want to go, he has gone about it the right way - head down, worked hard, showing the fruits of his labour - he's matured a lot.

If he wants to go I pray we do it quickly to leave ourselves enough time to find a replacement. Holding out for an extra five million until transfer deadline day would be such a Palace thing to do.

The percentage going to Man Utd is the big kick in the vitals here.

Things need to go our way here......This could be another Wright being replaced with Marco Gabbiadini situation.

Fingers crossed on this one.....I guess this time next year we will know.

I believe the Mail story. Except I wouldn't be as sure as them that we're resigned to losing him. That implies a primary source on Palace's side, which I doubt. I always feel there should be a right if reply in these yarns.

On a separate note why do BBC and MotD always cut or at best quieten the massive noise at Selhurst. Atmosphere is such a big thing in pro football sadly lacking at many grounds. Broadcasters,Sky BBC etc should make a point of including the singing. So when 20,000 plus fans were in unison singing ‘He’s just too good for you’ on Saturday after Andros’ goal then play it for the public in all its glory. The roof was coming off and they just cut it.
Promote the noise don’t hide it. It is something football and it’s followers should be proud of.

Yeah I notice this, they subdue the atmosphere and create a 'general. Stadium noise' sound. Odd

Wilf wants Champions League football - perhaps best to avoid Man U then, and Arsenal for that matter. Both clubs in massive decline. Man C have forwards already covered. Liverpool not mentioned. Spurs will bid £30m and offer £50k per week as usual. Chelsea on a transfer ban. PSG mentioned, would be a step down to Div 1 football before routine elimination in the knockout stages. Stay where you are Wilf - you know it makes sense.

Being realistic his agent appears to be busy behind the scenes , placing stories in the media and no doubt talking to interested parties.
Wilf has probably been ‘tapped up’ and knows of the interest in him.
I’m sure Parish has said in the past there is no buyout clause in his contract, but he has also said the club would not stand in his way if a deal was right for the club and the player.
Wilf did ask for a transfer under Pardew , but this was largely due to not being paid what he felt he was worth and also he was aware of interest in him.
Since then he’s had two bumper contracts and money doesn’t seem to be an issue.
From a recent article Wilf seems settled in London and has family commitments around his son and dad so it seems unlikely he would uproot and go overseas or perhaps even the north.
That leaves Spurs and Chelsea who are currently in the Champions League, or possibly Arsenal.
Chelsea have a potential transfer ban and it is said Arsenal have a very limited transfer budget.
That leaves Spurs, who have had a long standing interest in Wilf.
They have moved into a new 60,000 plus stadium with consequent revenue increase and may also lose Ericsson for around £70m.
Spurs would seem the most likely option at the moment, but would they pay the fee that Palace want?
If Wilf is going to go I hope an auction develops so we get maximum value.
In an ideal world I’d like him to stay and for us to buy a top striker to play alongside him.

There's over 170 comments already (mostly from Brighton I suspect) so you can add your tuppence worth if you want:

What part of the Mail story do you believe? The only truth is the date at the top of the page.
Do you really think Parish would tell a journalist details of any meeting with Zaha and how the club feels about it.
