I would imagine that Parish would be looking for a non negotiable low commitment, low cost loan for Wilf. If people are getting greedy then it won't happen.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

If he does sign for Leicester I will be delighted and make sure I cheer him when he comes on as an overpriced and past his prime sub in a game against us they have already lost. Sure he loves Palace but not so much that he will be able to over ride the needs of his current employer who wants to get back some of the huge outlay on a player well past his prime or the greed of agents seeking their slice. I did wonder if Parish would bite on this one as he does have a bit of a blind spot where his favourites are concerned but hopefully we have dodged a bullet here.

I worry about stuff worth worrying about.

A very sensible post. Zaha is best seen from a rear view mirror, return players tend to not work out. Ironically wilf was probably our best ever return player

Wilf is currently on around 70k at Gala not sure how the author has come up with 170k figure that league can't afford to pay people those sort of rates (The 170k was the claimed figure Palace offered him before he left us from various media reports yet same place is claiming 200k something Palace would never do at that time) Why would we pay 9m for a 31 year old that would be madness and not even for a proper transfer only a loan. Loan deal wise for example last season Philips to West Ham cost 6m he is on fairly high wage as well at City. I can see Palace trying to do a deal for him it has Parish/Freedman all over it both are way to chummy with him. Wilf had the talent and blew it because of his attitude which is why he is not getting on with these other clubs away from Palace they dont kiss his a**. Not a fan of him coming back but if he must a realistic deal would be something like we dont loan him we pay Gala something like 3m which is how much they paid for his signing on fee and we give him a 2 year deal as a squad player on around 70k (I cant see this happening Wilf would want unrealistic money 100k+ hes not worth that)

The only thing that matters is does Glasner want him, if its yes, get him, if its no, then don't, do not in any circumstances go against Glasners wishes.
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

That’s right and I cannot imagine Parrish doing anything else now. A few years ago yes, but he now has a manager he trusts and won’t start barking himself. I cannot see Glasner wanting him. He wouldn’t fit. The Glasner way is all high energy team work. Wilf is a flair individual. One who has lost his pace alongside frequently losing his rag.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |
