Wharton has to go. He is smoothness personified. We need a passer like him. Eze is beautiful to watch as he glides past defenders, but he must have someone to play off. Guehi had a bit of a mare. He hasn't played much football and seemed a little nervous. With the options available, he should still go. Henderson is a safe bet.

Talking of bets, on Oddschecker, Henderson is 1-5 to be in the final squad while Wharton is 1-2. The majority of players, of course, are odds-on and most of them are far shorter odds than these two, but these numbers at least suggest that the bookies share your view on our goalie but are much less certain about AW.

I find it mind boggling that Trafford made the 33, which does help Henderson's case. He quite rightly won't be a PL goalkeeper next year and may not even be a first choice Championship one. Had Pope been fit 4 weeks earlier, I suspect he'd have been no.3.

Odd: Why single out one player for the chop ahead of the final chop at the weekend? It seems a bit mean towards the player. Luke Shaw is "one player not ruled out". Surely there are 32 players not ruled out.

The article doesn't have a source so I don't think it's an official announcement by England More likely Maddison has been told he won't feature tomorrow or make the squad and news has leaked out

Maddison supposedly chose to leave after being told he won't make the cut. I think the odds were always against him after a fairly disappointing season and strong competition for his position. Supposedly Quansah and Curtis Jones have also been told they won't be going (not really a surprise for either). With one GK to be cut that would leave just three more to get das boot. I would argue there's no obvious ones, but Watkins wasn't great and Gomez rarely started for Liverpool this season (plus Konza has shown he can be a utility defender which was one of Gomez's plus points). I think Wharton has more chance of going than Eze because we don't have as many options in his position or who can do what he does. On the left England have the choice of Grealish, Gordon and Eze, plus Foden has also played there at times this season. Despite his strong performance on Monday I think Eze might be cut.

I think Eze, Guehi and Henderson will all definitely get in the final squad. Only question mark for me is Wharton, he should be in there but it's just whether Southgate feels he's still a bit inexperienced at the highest level. We'll know by Saturday anyway.

My 4 more cuts are, Trafford, Braithwaite, Gordon and Toney
