OK so probably going to be shot down on here but the wider story was always going to be that the bigger club were awful. I don't think anyone could deny Man U were terrible and are now a pale pale pale shadow of the dominant team of the 90's under Fergie. What must he be thinking now? Yes, as a fan I am delighted we beat them and we played well with a clear plan and focus, all credit to OG for creating it and the players for their execution. You can only beat the team in front of you and we did that emphatically. The big story is and will always will be more about how the big club fails if they do (which they did), even if the little club excels (which we did). If it had been Fulham beating them then we'd be talking about how Utd flopped. Bin dippers, West Ham, Newcastle Fulham and manure.

I tell you what; I LOVE JPM's finish last night, and have to keep watching it! "Have some of THAT!!" as the goalie flaps at thin air. But then I love our other goals too! To be honest I think that was the player we thought we had bought ,his 'highlights reel' had a few of those net busting goals in it .When we saw his Bambi on ice ,couldnt hit a barn door performances the disappointment among the fans was there for all to see . ^ months ago most of us would have driven him to the airport for nothing . All I can say is Hello the real JPM , nice of you to finally turn up

Trouble is, AWB is a right back, NOT a RWB. Though he has been playing LB. Which is why he was never going to be a fit for utd . His attacking play is sub standard ,so much so he couldn't get a game in the U18's as a winger and was told by Richard Shaw to give it a go as a full back

I can’t believe the Man U fans giving their players a standing ovation at end. It was like sick joke but I don’t think they were being ironic. Maybe they were in shock and needed it for self preservation. Very weird however you call it. Got to be fair to the Manure fans, I was at the game and they sang the whole way through. Very odd considering how much your typical Manure fan moans online. They didn't all come from London either; there was a coach from Worksop outside!

We played them off the Park Edited by dreamwaverider (06 May 2024 11.18pm) My son was amazed when they took Hojland off, he hadn't noticed he was playing. I hadn't noticed until after that Antony was playing. We noticed Mount when he passed a ball straight into touch!! What a night!!!!

Good for the Palace lads in the Arthur singing ‘United get battered everywhere they go’ back at them I was in the Arfur and it sounded like it was the whole ground singing that. Possibly the best moment of the game. I couldn't quite make out the words but it went on for so long I soon picked it up!

One complaint, if I may. 15 minutes to go. 4-0 up. Nothing really to play for and a team at our mercy begging for the final whistle. If ever there was a time to play our youth without risk it was then. Rak Sakyi was sitting on the bench (having recently bagged a brace for the U21). Could he not have enjoyed and benefited from a run out. Imagine the confidence had he scored? I think we REALLY wanted a clean sheet to go with the goals. But having said that, we didn't sit back at any point, which was great to see.

Could not make the game as I was away so watched on Sky - the “live” coverage was around 3 to 4 minutes behind the actual game so I was getting the BBC goal alerts well before the TV action. It was quite reassuring to watch the play knowing we would score in the next few minutes though.. This is the longest time lag I can remember and wondered if anyone else had the same issue? A VERY rare experience for a Palace fan! Did you sing: "Score in a minute...
Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |
