Ive been saying since Glasner arrived that Mitchell is going to have to learn his new role or he will fall by the wayside.
Boy, has he learnt. He played a fine game today and showed us all just what a great little player he is. Im sure there will be a lot more to come from him. But the new regime are showing us all what talent we've already got.

A magnificent win and a glimpse of the team we should be after 11 years at this level. Oliver Glasner is an excellent appointment and hopefully will be PROPERLY backed in the summer to be able to shape his team and his squad.
Hopefully we can continue to move away from treating every opposition like Barcelona.

Sky are still going on about the game and still not one bit of credit or mention that Palace played with grit and determination.

Merson is also such a t*** and talks utter bollox

At half time I thought there is no way we can continue at that intensity for another 45 mins and the second half we were under pressure from the start. The subs were a mixed bag. Ayew and Edouard yes, Jairo and schlupp less confident. But we held on and that’s the main thing. Everyone put in a shift.

He’s right about the title race though. I just wanted him to say if he was a betting man while sniffing his nose.

Sky is the Liverpool channel so what do you expect?

Klopp gave us credit especially for the 1st half.

I predicted a 2-2 and it so easily could have been but what a great result.

That was a great team performance. Wharton and dacoure next season for us will be amazing.

Dean Henderson since returning has been excellent and great to see him and Anderson bonding as a defensive unit. Important to see that.

Lerma has been terrific in defence for me, perhaps I miss things as I never played defence but his composure on the ball, calm and good at picking a pass have helped fill some of the Guehi void.

Mitchell has been so improved under Glasner. Deserves so much praise.

Difficult to enjoy that 2nd half as I spend as much time wishing the clock to pass 90mins.

On to West Ham next and we can now enjoy the run in. My hope is we reach 40 points and have a lot of fun moments between now and the seasons end

We will win all 6 and get to 51.....

What an incredible performance. First half we absolutely outplayed them and second half our defending was perfect. Anderson and Henderson were both absolutely mighty.

I'm still in a borderline state of shock that about three of their chances didn't go in and that Mateta somehow didn't end up with a brace. If he'd converted just one of those chances it would have been a lot less horrible at the end!

Most of all I'm delighted for Glasner who has really improved us and deserved a good result after a few dodgy ones. It's very sad to think we're probably going to lose some of these guys in the summer, because a full season with Eze, Olise, Doucoure, Lerma, Wharton, Munoz, Guehi and Anderson in the team plus some further additions, I think we'd be top half and pushing for Europe.

Why when we win a game, do people mention Europe? We have never been even close, ever before.

I got to say that for the first time this season I was not shaking in my boots at the end. I thought we controlled our defence in the last ten minutes superbly.

Great seeing Olise back and NOT overdoing it. He really is a very special player with some brilliant touches. I doubt he will find full strength this season but his presence was really noticeable today and a useful contribution especially in the first half and the build up to our goal.
