The situation with Hughes will have an impact on our plans for next season.
That looked to be be a nasty knee injury.
Hopefully it’s not serious and he will be fit for the new season .
However, if it is serious and he’s out for next season we will need another midfielder.
We have Doucoure back, but have lost Jairo who, although not that involved in first team matters, has more or less been ever present on the bench.
We surely don’t want to be in a position whether through injury or suspension where we have to slot Richards back into midfield.

Looking forward to next season, just hope what we have seen in recent weeks is not a false dawn. Hopefully we will not lose anybody that OG wants to keep in the squad and maybe add 1 or 2 where necessary.
As I’m about to enter my eighth decade it would be bloody marvellous if we could win a trophy, I will be there. COYP

Very good looking team isn’t it. Clyne certainly on a new one year deal surely great business.
I’d sell Guehi, 2 years remaining and euros could push up his value. Great player but not been involved in our successful spell so we can manage without and avoids ffp concerns. Bring in a new cb and Ben Johnson free from West Ham. We will look even stronger with depth in defence.
Franca back next season adds to the attack.
If Edouard and Ahamada go we can buy another attacker.

All hypothetical but what an exciting season we could have. Fight for top 6 and dream where we can finish if we hang on to our other top players

Got to be positive about next season. I watched the Newcastle away game on a dismal day in the winter, a miserable day, an absolute drubbing 0-4 and you couldn’t see where the next point was coming from. What a transformation when we have the players available and the new manager making full use of them.

Bit negative. Might just be bruised.

Look at Leverkusen since Alonso arrived. Already won the league. In the cup final and the Europa cup final..
Complete fairytale.
If Olise and Eze stay at Palace we can do something really special under Glasner.
Even Guehi. It's all over to the board. Jump in big this year!!!

I would much prefer a trophy win than getting into europe.

A trophy win gets us into Europe.

On the wider question of going for Europe or not, as has been said earlier, unless we have European ambitions we can say goodbye to our star players - is that what people really want?

If we are able to keep our star players for one more season we have to be aiming for European qualification.

That's a very good point actually, I hadn't considered that.

I wouldn't think it an absurd aspiration or even expectation for next season, catastrophes being avoided.

My personal hope/expectation is at the very least we should be looking at top half. Just where the gap will be between a 10th and say 6th place finish, and where we could potentially finish, is anyone's guess.

I'd rather be a Palace fan going into any game than a Spurs fan, for instance, as things stand. Exciting times.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Id prefer to win the league and the cup. The old fashioned double, with our current squad and say two or three more.

On BBC some guy said this is the team he has been waiting for the last 50 years.
Pray they all stay.
