That's rich coming from you after your last understanding and peaceful response, eh? I wish any forum to have contributors giving their point of view and to give reasons for their point of view. Nothing wrong with that; we are all entitled to post arguments and opinions. It seems to me , when I see the way Wisbeach, for instance, is referred and treated on here it looks like a lot of people enjoy abusing, with hardly any respect on view. I'm sure he can look after himself and doesn't need me to look after him in any sense but that's what I see. It seems people on here like to use him as a football. Great fun for some and nice and cosy but, as an outsider, it does look nasty. I write an answer to Stirlingsays in response to the language he is using and ask him a perfectly sound question in order to dig deeper and your response arrives "You don't half post some bollox". As you so rightly say: "It's not big and it's not clever". but you'll do it anyway. Edited by Glazier#1 (27 Nov 2023 7.09pm) Wissie will be more offended by your suggestion than any thing he has received. You must have missed the get well and good luck posts he received when he was poorly eh. From all sides of the house so don’t give it the old bully line. Wissie can defend himself very well and in between his dog walks, bowls, and brain washing his family he has a fine time on here. Edited by cryrst (27 Nov 2023 7.16pm)

Whether I agree with them or not is for another post not the present one. In response to my question about your views on immigration and violence, you wrote nothing. You chose your own answer, Stirling. This is why we can't stand politicians: they never answer the bloody question asked but their own instead. Honestly. Did you answer my last paragraph? No.

It was more scary on the inside apparently. I never went inside but as a kid I sometimes accompanied my older brother during school holidays and he had to make visits there. He was a sales rep with business there. I just sat outside in the car with the doors locked. He said it was a grim environment. What I learned back then was the budget for food for patients in asylums was much lower per person than that in either hospitals or care homes. They were just locked up and forgotten. In my teens I allayed for a table tennis club, we had a game against the staff of Cane Hill which was played there. Walking in the grounds at night, I s*** myself, really was scary.

This is why we can't stand politicians: they never answer the bloody question asked but their own instead. Honestly. Did you answer my last paragraph? No. The reason I'm reluctant to address these kind of opinions on language, immigration and violence is that I regard the construct you create as diversionary and hyperbolic. For example, do you condemn those who spoke after the death of George Floyd for inflaming riots? Do you condemn the action of kneeing at football games for inflaming racial and political tensions at football games? It's just hyperbolic....like saying shooting people in video games leads to school shootings. Yeah, maybe it partly influences someone mentally ill on a one in a trillion basis. However, one in a trillion probably die after eating chocolate. So it's boring to have to endlessly deal with constructs like this, especially with a person who himself just ignores points and then has the gall to complain about that in others. Edited by cryrst (27 Nov 2023 7.16pm) As usual you are completely wrong. I am not in the least offended. Quite the opposite. I am glad that others can see the nasty hypocrisy of some of the regular posters. That said I was grateful to receive the goodwill messages. Something I trust everyone would do. If you knew my family you would laugh out loud at the idea have any influence over them. They think for themselves and do so very effectively. If I did have any influence it was to encourage just that. Dog walking earlier. Bowls tomorrow. Beer now.

As a kid sitting outside in my brother’s car some of the patients would approach the car and stare in the windows. That was unsettling but I learned that such people existed because until then I did not. I am though often forced to wonder if the switch to care in the community for all but the most dangerous is actually wise. At the rear of my current home is a purpose built bungalow inhabited by a guy in his 30s who has very obvious severe mental health issues. He wears a crash helmet all the time, has no verbal communication and only makes seagull like noises. He never appears to leave the property and is not seen in the locality. He is though given 24 hour, 365 days a year support, usually with 2 people during the day. I suspect he is taken on occasions to a support centre but I haven’t noticed it. He isn’t in any way living in the community. He is in care in the middle of the community. I think he would probably be better cared for in his own community.
