Hard to disagree with any of those points.
The way VAR is implemented in European competitions seems to be a lot better than in England both in the way it's implemented and the time it takes.

Perhaps the officials are not arrogant t**ts like ours

And apparently have not only seen a game before but also have an actual grasp of the rules.

In our game yesterday I felt they were trying to vindicate VAR by checking things that didn't need to be checked. All that it did was reduce the flow, spectacle and entertainment value of the game.

VAR driving Dyche mad but it's Wolves who get the brunt of the bad decisions.

A highly dubious penalty decision in favour of Fulham.

300 think yes, 3000 think no, so far.

The concept of "Clear and obvious error" involves subjectivity and subjective decisions are often the catalyst for much debate and controversy.

According to the Times via bbc' s rolling news, IFAB are looking to extend VAR to 'corners, free-kicks & 2nd yellows' 2hr games coming your way soon.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

God forbid !

Games will extend to well beyond 2 hrs if additional checks are introduced !

At a time when there is a growing body of supporters who would like to see VAR disappear into the ether, any additional interference will go down well !!
More VAR will only result in more controversy and debate about the actual football will diminish even further.

Blow me down, another, you cannot have zero contact at all.

Forwards - dash into the area and fall over, clutch your leg in pain, it doesn't matter which one.

Defenders - ballet dancing or a spell as toreador would be useful, social distancing skills.

When it comes to offside surely either the technology or the PL's ability to use it is failing miserably, that should take a couple seconds but decisions seem to take about 5 mins. It's not subjective, it's either offside or not, and that's 'clear and obvious' (the most insane caveat ever introduced for decision making).

I feel the same about other decisions too. They've done their utmost to convolute just about every single rule in any instance but the application of these has been inconsistent and often lacking in objectivity. It's almost as if in trying to implement the rules of football objectively, they've made them more subjective than ever - 'clear and obvious'. The ambiguity and exposure to subjectivity there is ridiculous.

I still maintain it's the referees who've been let down the most. We've essentially introduced a technology which should eradicate all errors but have implemented it so badly it's become an entity and source of contention of it's own.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

It is the model of plausibility that the stage will be reached whereby the game will actually be refereed by the VAR and the person in the middle will just carry out instructions relayed by the person sitting in front of a plethora of screens.

I suspect there are many who have concluded that the introduction of VAR is a "Clear and obvious error".
