No, I'm a bit wary too. With Olise and Eze having proven they could play in the champs you, knew they could take a hit and still shine, the question was just could they perform a level up. This guys has a massive step up to make, after a very limited amount of senior football. But it was only a few years back that Vinicius Jr practically went straight into the Madrid first team. I'm guessing he'll be playing wide left? Would be odd to spunk our transfer budget on someone who plays in Eze's position. Like Eze and Olise, he'll be eased in, but lets hope (like them) that he starts to play so well that Roy has to start him.

It is to be noted that Freedman was in Brazil earlier in the year to see him play in real time so this is no kneejerk reaction to Zaha's departure, rather it's the next piece in the jigsaw. Finally, I will be surprised if we are spending that kind of money to play him in the U21s or send him out on loan or sit on the bench.

If rumours are to be believed and given the number of positions he plays, he may have to play 2 roles at the same time to replace Zaha AND Olise?

They should film him ordering a pint of the cheapest available alcoholic beverage in a south London Wetherspoons at 9:30am then sitting at a table with a few betting slips. I’d love that. I'd enjoy that too but will settle to a keepy uppy skills video in the Norwood Junction underpass with Mas Que Nada playing in the background!

The lad is clearly highly thought of and at 19 has a lot of potential. The mere fact a Brazilian could be coming to Palace is exciting haha. The fact that he's a versatile attacker will be very useful and should give him more opportunities and I'm sure he'd enjoy linking up with Eze and Olise. Obviously YouTube compilations can make anyone look amazing so I like to try and find individual match highlights as I think they give a more accurate representation of a players ability. Here's 4 I found from within the last year;
Weaknesses appear to be decision making, sloppy passes and attacking positioning and knowing how to take up dangerous positions. Certainly seems like a lot to be excited about with his main weaknesses being something that can be worked on and stuff which is very common for young players. We'll have to be patient as he's young and is making a huge move at such a young age but he looks like a tough lad, who can handle some rough treatment on the pitch and is used to playing in high pressure atmospheres. I await the photo of him holding a Palace shirt...or news of a late West Ham bid.

He really plays DM, CM, AM if anyone's interested. Something like started at DM and then was put in a more attacking role. With us I would think in Eze's position. I think Eze might go Left Inside Forward this season.

I can’t see anything to support that. He has predominantly played CAM. His next most played position being CF. I’ve seen him compared to Kevin De Bruyne as a playmaker type of player. But when I watch him he looks more like a Phil Foden type of player.
