Did OLise get credited for assisting Zaha goal? And what about the 1st goal of the game? When counting assists, it says nothing about which team you make assist for....

A little aside to yesterday.... In the build-up to the game, the BT Sport lovely and Crouch and Joe Cole interviewed the two managers at the side of the pitch. There was clearly genuine warmth between the two of them. Moyes said that when he was taking his coaching course, all candidates had to visit a professional club and 'shadow' the coach as he went about his business. He chose to go to Udinese where Roy was the manager. He said he would be eternally grateful to Roy for the warm welcome he gave him, how kindly he treated him and for everything that he taught him. Interesting what you learn; certainly the three interviewers had never heard of this before.

I do hope he stays for next season in a meaningful capacity, not just a figurehead

I think we benefited from having rotated our midfield during the week and having Wilf return which gave us a threat from both sides.

It was funny that Pardew was there as it reminded me of the games we used to see under him where we always looked like scoring and always looked like conceding! A very entertaining game that we thoroughly deserved to win. West Ham looked dead on their feet though. They were second to every ball and it wasn't clear what their plan was other than to fill the 6-yard box at corners. I had reservations about the return of Roy, but it's hard to argue with what he has delivered so far. Whoever is manager next season we do look like a team that is a couple of players away from a really good team. How long we can hold on to Olise is a big question though, as he is looking like he is going to go all the way to the top. Hopefully reports of him wanting to stay for at least another season are true. We had that stretch under Pardew where we let in so many goals from corners. Maybe he brought back the bad mojo for this match.

Was disappointed at the time but as you say we reaped the benefit on Saturday. The Spammers on the other looked "leggy" and Rice didn't show much for them. Demands of a long European journey probably taking a toll. Could be sweating even more on the last 2 games of the season.

Very funny,Willo. Absolutely ecstatic, glowing with happiness, grinning like a Colgate toothpaste model. Had we been defeated the dinner reservation with my dear wife would have been cancelled.
