There seems to be a lot of negativity towards CPNP. Have we forgotten that until recently it was our National Sports Centre. Yet our only attempt to do something there was a half hearted approach that didn’t even get to the planning stage some twelve years ago. We weren’t even premier then! I feel quite conflicted on this. On the one hand we have one stand at SP which is well past it's sell by date and as it is is made in part from wood possibly a fire hazard, but three other stands that are ok. Not great just ok. There is talk of moving to a new ground, but my concern is that may come with an out of town site that is pretty hard to get to and pretty grim when you get there. Look at Coventry (possibly the first 'new' ground?) Reading l,Bolton, Huddersfield all nice looking modern grounds but a bugger to get to and from on public transport and nowhere to go for a pint after the game Unless we can do an Arsenal, Spurs or even a Brentford, will it be any better?. I can't see Crystal Palace Park as an option as that was impossible to to get to when it hosted major athletics or concerts way back and I can't see how you would enhance public transport to solve that. I would also not want to to see us move to the M25 fringes as it ain't sarf London Not sure what will happen but know it won't happen soon

Edited by dreamwaverider (28 Sep 2022 4.07pm) I fear that they can, though I don't see why. When SP was built, far more householders faced being invaded by football crowds than would be the case with the National Sports Centre, which is bounded by a bus terminal, Crystal Palace station, Crystal Palace Park and - the only residential area involved - Crystal Palace Park Road. The transport links are fantastic (and would have been even better if Crystal Palace High Level station hadn't been closed in 1954!).

A move to the National Sports Centre would entail a complete stadium development, and of course the cost would be far in excess of the £100 Mill figure that is currently reported for the main stand project at Selhurst Park. I do not believe there is any appetite for abandoning the current proposal in favour of a full-scale development of a new stadium.

One suburban train station and buses that get caught up on the always congested streets around the area. I have bitter memories of attending the centre on weekday evenings and weekends to take my daughter to play netball. Desolate and always took ages. One thing Selhurst does have is decent transport connections.

In the meantime can we perhaps make having a pi$$ in the AW not such a rubbish experience. The stairs down are a nightmare.
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

This is on hold unless a rich PL club comes along and agrees to fund it. TFL and Sad Khan will likely make this a requirement we don't have that money so it would need the government to chip in.

Having previously lived 1 mile away from CP Park for 30 years the transport links and roads are terrible. Rush hour is a joke. To get to a Palace evening game i would take a 2 mile detour to avoid the whole area. I would love CP Park as it is the home of the club, however, the roads/transport are not even the biggest issue. The complexity with the councils - Bromley own the park but don't really care, and i think 3 or 4 other councils are impacted (Lambeth, Croydon and Southwark i think). Then there are the locals who are vocal and well organised. I really think it's a non starter.
