Look BlueJay. Wisbech is a big boy. He doesn't need your pathetic whining defence. Don't waste your time trying to lecture me. It does nothing other than disrupt a thread, which you have a habit of doing. It wasn't either pathetic, whining or a defence! It was a factual exposure of you. I gave it the respect it deserved! None. Anyone who resorts to such language always speaks about themselves, and not their intended target, so when-ever it happens the only response I give is a quiet smile. Carry on. I like smiling.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

I'll sort you out a ticket and buy you a beer. You can have a wander around Croydon whilst you are here, it's perfectly pleasant and we aren't removing all the names from the East India Company. In fact we have a protected area for that history. And I can show you where Hrolf grew up Let's not forget I grew up in Stockwell on an estate. I had my mind broadened quite significantly. I witnessed the problems then that others are only now seeing take root in their own areas.....however the excuses remain the same.....Que Sera, Sera. As for the offer, it's a kind one which I thank you for. Still there will be others more deserving than myself. Edited by Stirlingsays (27 Mar 2022 1.35pm)

It’s many years away from a proper overhaul. Only thing new is loads of high rise towers of flats, a few small bars in Surrey street and a few more restaurants in south end, which I admit look okay. Not many decent drinking places there now. Croydon has become a place to doss down.

Edited by Stirlingsays (27 Mar 2022 1.35pm) Yes, St Ockwell won’t have changed at all in over 30 years Unlike Croydon which is going down the sewer on a weekly basis. Which is odd as I worked near Stockwell for the past couple of years and it seemed to have changed. And Croydon seems to have all we need as a family with three young people and a pair of old farts. I must be mistaken. Which is why I suggested you come and visit to cast your sharp observational eye and point out the truth of the situation.

As for the people, human nature doesn't change....unlike the crime statistics. We know you live in a nice area of Croydon...it's a large place and we have been over it before. Personally I think your earlier consideration to move was the wiser one.....'No Croydon for old men'....so to speak. Then again family keeping together can have a higher value and distance can fragment. Edited by Stirlingsays (28 Mar 2022 2.07am)

I do like your pub reviews on Beer in The Evening, you certainly frequent the lower joints of Croydon.I expect a review of a Pub called the Sewer any day now.
