At the end of the day a lot of people had us down for relegation this season and that won’t be happening and we won’t be going to Europe either. This season has seen a major improvement over the last few but these things take time.

We are not playing well and I have already suggested we lack premier league quality coaches. Finishing is a major problem because when we make chances there is no confidence of scoring. Also we are too slow in getting the ball forward from defence allowing the opposition to get too many players behind the ball. This has been the problems for sometime so why hasn’t they been sorted out.

I was expecting a defeat so I am happy with a point. As performances go it was disjointed and lacking in creativity and we just couldn’t get going. At the end of the day we are not Man City who know how to dispatch of teams like Brentford and Norwich.

It seems to me that our system and set up prevents effective transition from midfield to getting forwards and balls in to the box, or in front of the box. How many shots do we take on the edge of the box? Zero, because we cannot transition fast enough to make the space. We consistently allow the opposition to cover back. Previously our game was counter attack, but when you play out from the back, then you have to release the ball quickly into space and forwards have to be there!! Our forward players are not running into space fast enough for a quick release, so we get trapped and the momentum breaks down. That translates into a loss of consistent rhythm, so players lack the confidence to move the ball forward or take a risk and take on (and pass) an opposing player. Wilf, is a persistent offender of trying to do it all himself and cannot bring himself to release the ball fast enough. Maybe the other guys know this, so they don't run into space? In the past Wilf had to do it all himself, but now he just runs into dead ends most of the time and we lose the ball. On the right side we have to cover Wardy, because he showed again today that he is more of a liability than an asset in the modern game. Macca showed much more of an inclination when he came, on to transition, drive to the box and release the ball quickly. Olise is way better than Ayew, but he has to cover Ward and therefore has to get the ball more often than not in our own half, which gives teams time to track back and get two men on him. Love Ayew's work rate, but can't hit a barn door with a banjo (and that has been going on for a long time!). I think opposing coaches have us figured and we are SO predictable in our build up, hence we don't get the opportunities to create chances and shots on goal!

At the end of the day we are not Man City who know how to dispatch of teams like Brentford and Norwich. I concur with these sentiments. Vieira has clearly decided that in his system he prefers Matete over Benteke and perhaps he believes that Eze is not suited to how he wants to play. In terms of the positivities, we played Norwich who had won their previous 3 games (League and cup) and came away with a draw and today we kept a clean sheet, both games of course away from home. Don't get too excited about the transfer window this Summer. We have no money,Connor Gallagher goes back to Chelsea and Macca will be another year older. Nketiah plus one or two other youths who are not quite ready.

I dont think PV knows his best front three. In my opinion for what its worth it is Edouard Mateta and Olise but Olises flair is sacrificed because Joel needs too much cover these days. New RB is an urgent priority for us to progress I really don't like these statements. You start the players who you think will perform best against the opposition. It doesn't have to be the same three players every time. Even Pep doesn't do that.
