Friend will not officiate in the next round of Premier League games. His next refereeing job will be next Wednesday at Cardiff who host Peterborough in the Championship.

Pawson will not be on VAR duty, but will referee Burnley v Watford on Saturday.

Having been effectively disciplined, it would be good to receive an apology. But I guess they're forbidden to make any comment.

Issuing an apology would seem to be an admission of guilt. So we just wont get one .

Bah, doesn't change the fact that Palace were cheated out of at least a point.
Arguably the thing that stands out is that Pawson didn't get demoted, therefore it's all Friends fault. Yet Friend made the correct call for the penalty, and has been illustrated, refs this season haven't overturned a VAR call. This obviously puts refs in a bind. My thinking is that current events give the VAR official far more control over the narrative than should be permissible.

Pawson much more at fault for me. I personally don't blame Friend for the Big decisions - offside missed by Lino, should have been picked up by Pawson. Penalty correctly waved on by Friend only to be overturned by Pawson.

Where's Pawsons punishment in all of this?
