I think maybe it was wrong to have the same ref as in the last game as it was almost as if Moss had decided he was going to try and make up for the criticism he got for the red card when we beat them. After Wilf went off he put his cards away despite numerous similar or worse challenges from Spuds.

Having said all that Wilf deserved the second booking and was awful up to that point and was lucky not to have cost us a goal at one point. It'll be interesting to see how we play without him over the next month. Personally I think he might find it hard to get back in if Eze picks up where he left off, or Olise finds some confidence. Has he lost something or has his ego now fully consumed him?

With our bench today we clearly decided to keep the score down at half time and just conserve energy. Spurs won thanks to their pace and quality in the final third. It's a shame Wilf and the ref ruined any chance of a contest though. If we don't get any players back then Norwich won't be easy.

MOTM Mitchell but fair play to the team, they all showed the professionalism to keep going going when Zaha lost his.

People are getting confused with the offside rules. If the passing player passes the ball behind them, which he did, then it doesnt matter about where the defender is. Similar to a thrown in, where you cant be offside, you cant be offside if the ball is played backwards to you.

I think the ball was played ahead

Was the first one a yellow? If you think it was explain why Skipp was not given one minutes later.

Is that really relevant? Having been given a yellow for a soft foul, Zaha ought to know that the last thing he should be doing is giving the referee the option to give him another yellow. His behaviour for that 2nd yellow was childishly stupid and totally unnecessary.

Wilf was a disgrace today. No point bringing him back for the West Ham game (assuming it goes ahead) as he won't be around for the following few games in January.

Agreed. Hope he will get more minutes over the next month or so so we can see what he's made of.

Sad to see so many fans turning on Wilf.

OK, he struggles to control his temper, but we owe him so much. He remains a fantastic player and we're lucky to have such a proven match-winner.

Maybe a short course in anger management is all he needs.

My view:

1. Great start, we looked really good
2. But the gnawing feeling that we lacked anything really cutting started growing.
3. Then Spurs started threatening and they showed their class.
4. Thomkins gift on halfway line a problem but still they had plenty to do.
5. Anderson flat footed for their second.
6. Wilf is meant to take risks to beat people. He didn't do that enough.
7. It is unforgiveble at this level to misplace passes when not under pressure @Wilf.
8.First yellow soft. What gets into your mind to then make on obviously nailed on second yellow @wilf?
9. I said to a Spurs mate, no complaints, apart from Wilf.

We are lucky to still have him but maybe at 29 if he cannot fix these issues he will become less of our focus and we will become a more complete team. I rather hope he comes up with another phase in his career and if not he is still often just too good for them. Might become sometimes if he's not careful. And then never.

Merry Christmas Y'all.

1. A number of us have felt for some time that Zaha should no longer be a guaranteed starter. Furthermore, in recent weeks he's been back to moaning at his teammates again even though he's the person who loses the ball in promising situations more than anyone else.

2. I'd be surprised if an anger management course hasn't already been considered or even tried. At 29 he's unlikely to grow up now.

2. Agreed. Not in time for a football career. Although I did have some growth spurts in my 30s, 40s, 50s... To be continued

None of us would dispute the fact that Wilf has been a standout player for us many times.

But, his days are over. It's not just his petulant behaviour that let's him down, it's his lack of pace and commitment nowadays. He's letting down his team mates and the manager. PV needs to get tough and, as others have said, leave him on the sidelines for a bit.

Maybe his absence in the Afcon competition will be a chance for Eze to come back and for Olise to play more to show that we no longer rely on Wilf to get us points.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Positives from the game ;

Ferguson getting some game time
Eduoard will play against Norwich and so a chance to get a goal and build up some confidence ?

The players out with Covid should be ready to replace those going to AFCON ; Olise,Eze and Millovejic

Agree with poster about the ref ; exactly same scenario as home game. 3-0, player sent off

Hope to see a few academy players on the bench Tuesday

He absolutely does not.
