And how did you hear it? I thought the committee heard from Rafiq and then asked lots of questions all of which he answered. The former Chairs evidence particularly regarding the CEO wanting the investigation process culled, the ECB's involvement, Yorkshire leadership deciding not to participate. Rattled through quite quickly - the way I heard it anyway.

Yorkshire, Essex Middlesex & Somerset all have work to do on this, I can see others coming forward / additional claims coming out of the woodwork - From a sporting perspective- the ashes are coming up soon will this effect Joe Roots inclusion & who knows what county cricket will look like by the time next season starts. What sport will be next to have some similar claims against them ? I do get the feeling that this is just the tip of the iceberg All of them probably, because this is how minorities assert themselves. People are either too blind to see it or they are in on it.

I listened to a lot of it and there is no doubt that Azeem Rafiq was bullied and that some of it was racist in language.

I'm not sure what MPs have to offer on this, they should be clearing up their own act. Perhaps they think allowing raw sewage into our rivers and pushing pensioners into poverty qualifies them in some way. Such is their delusion, I noticed Yorkshire CC did not appear.

So the select committee is running and all we have heard about is a lot of name calling and people bending over backwards to appear woke. What a surprise. The detail is unimportant. What it illustrates is a country which was quite happily White and a bit xenophobic being filled up with immigrants against the wishes of the majority, and then being held to ransom by said immigrants for their reputation and livelihoods because the elites have artificially created an environment whereby that can happen. I know people don't want to hear that became they want to come on here and sound all virtuous, but that is the truth. Should people show more respect to each other regardless of colour? Of course. Is it any surprise in the circumstances that they don't? No. That's one big reason why most people didn't want mass immigration in the first place. They saw this coming.
Over time it's become clear that the only racial reality you're happy with is some kind of subservient Uncle Tom nonsense where people are pleased to put up with crap and attacked if they don't. And this is your very latest iteration of that belief and theme. I don't agree with mass immigration either. I just tend to believe that people already here aren't free game to be demeaned and denigrated on account of a discomfort at their presence. That said, the reaction to this is OTT. They should've just listened earlier as when that doesn't happen animosity grows and a determination to be heard usually wins out regardless. Edited by BlueJay (16 Nov 2021 3.24pm)

How can any of it help achieve the pipe dream of harmony? I only see increased resentment ahead. Have you even watched any of his testimony? [Tweet Link]

Abuse of people in the workplace and elsewhere has gone on forever. Suddenly, we are all supposed to accept without question that race related antagonisms are somehow different from other personal abuse. Why? We need to look beyond the detail and see what is really happening in virtually every area of British life. Useful idiots will be whining about racism, and meanwhile, yet another British institution is being slowly dismantled.

Your posts don't marry up with the situation. All you need to do is watch Rafiq's testimony to realise how horrible what went on was. All your constant posts about race do is portray a scared man losing his perceived grip of power on the world.

the problem here is bullying, which is always reprehensible. If that fella had a limp, or a stammer , or a birthmark.....the bullies could have chosen that identifier to bully him. bullying is in every country, and always wrong. Regarding English versus pakistan...... we have all seen bullying travel in both directions. there is a line between harmless banter and bullying. If an English friend calls me a Paddy, do i mind ? nope. if a thug outside a chip-shop is being hostile and calls me a Paddy ? not exactly the same is it ? i have witnessed workplace bullying in all directions...regardless of the identity of bully & victim.
