Go to Afghanistan and be a 'gay bloke'. When whites have a racist opinion, it is indeed just that, racist. Same for brown people, it’s simple really. I’m not sure if the culture war Stirley is talking about is a fight between England and what goes on thousands of miles away in Afghanistan? Those cultures are quite different. It is rude for moderate afghans to not invite a complete stranger into their home, to stay the night, should a weary traveler present on their doorstep. The same cannot be said in Stevenage. Yet there are many barbaric and archaic customs in that part of the world. I also would agree that I don’t think you can speak intelligently about what goes on behind the closed doors of moderate followers of Islam, so I will take your sentiments with a pinch of salt, there.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

I was in London last week and came across one of these new crossings. I was confused and wasn't sure if it was a zebra crossing or not. How do blind people cope let along drivers? Its bloody ridiculous. What next LGBT Traffic lights?

Most of the designs in the article and elsewhere (such as the Poppy themed ones that are dotted about) seem to be as much art project as anything, so I think that wider context has to be appreciated rather than solely centering in on one demographic as the article has effectively done. It should really come down to whether any design other than the ubiquitous and understood (by man and dog alike!) zebra crossing is a bad idea. I'm all for giving things a bit of colour and uniqueness but not if it creates safety issues!

It's the safety issue I am concerned about not the politics behind it, can't they do a wall mural or dress a lamppost.
