Not necessarily. He came on and misses two chances…one an absolute sitter. Maybe he’ll start, who knows. But Saturdays showing was a trip back down to earth after thinking we’d bought the messiah after Spurs. No one can argue the fact that we finally have someone who is able to put himself into the correct position

All I'm saying is that I don't think we should be expecting 2 goals in the space of a few minutes every single game. It looks like we bought a decent striker. That's great. We needed competition for Benteke. Now we've got it. It's happy days. Some of us can just see the contribution Benteke makes outside of just goals (Vieria and Hodgson included), while some get caught up on the numbers.

Benteke was unlucky against Liverpool, a lovely controlled header which struck the post and a blatant knock which had it happened in our box would've been a clear pen for pool, the person who's made the most difference to our squad so far is Gallagher and he is clearly going to be able to score some much needed opportunities as well as providing others with them including Benteke. I feel Ayew must be the most fouled player for us now, how many times does he get past his marker only for them to hack him down and he always just gets up and carries on, he is such a wonderful player on the ball hugely not appreciated by us fans.

Agree. It's become fashionable to hate on both Benteke and Ayew. But they deserve credit for what they bring to the team.

When they showed the Benteke trip MoTD commentator said he fell over. Then a couple of minutes later they did show it again and questioned if it might have been a trip. Pundits ignored it completely and just waxed lyrical about Milner. I think we know now that if we win 3-0 its all about the weakness of the other team and if we lose 3-0 its about the majestical performance of the opponents. Annoying but come to expect it now. This annoyed me so much, said Milner was brilliant and Wilf didn't get a sniff but failed to mention the 9 fouls he committed (most of them on Wilf) with no punishment coming his way. Very easy to defend when you're allowed to clatter players left and right without reprimand.

Exactly that. A center forward, with strikers instincts. The lack of Murray killed Pardew in the end, if he'd decided two actually use him instead of allowing him to play elsewhere we'd have been able to keep the goals flowing such a shameful waste by Pardew and one that is still hurting him to this day.
