I would hope though that anything especially concerning in a persons medical records could be flagged. If not there could be consequences for signing it off. Another concern would be that people with a death wish or mental issues are not always rushing to the doctors to begin with so there might be no record of it. Possibly file under marginally 'better than nothing' The sad fact I suppose is that if someone really wants to go out like this guy, they will probably find a way.

The issue about increased intervention in gun licencing, is that it still won't stop anyone with borderline traits being shown on the radar. Perchance people who spent significant periods posting on internet forums about gun licencing.

That's true, it would be a far from perfect system and would likely miss many potential problem individuals. As a quick check I can see that it might be useful though. Good point about 'having a pint'. So much mayhem seems to come about when people are half cut, and as you say there's nothing that's going to come up on a check for that unless someone's known to be an alco by their doctor.

Very very sad and tragic incident. Thoughts go out obviously to the families of the victims but also to anyone who witnessed the shootings and the Police Officers and Paramedics who were first on scene in the aftermath... As much as they are expected to deal mentally with tragedy it still takes its toll and seeing a 3 year old who has been shot is not a regular occurrence.. Very sad. RIP to the victims bless them

Anders Breivik, who shot up dozens of kids at a Norway Socialist summer camp. He was an Incel, angry about multiculturalism growing in his country. ................ how many of our islamist terrorists have also been Incels ?
