Sir James Hird Flag Mount Martha 29 Jan 22 8.24pm

Have'nt got any photos but would need some old farts to remember this. 'The Star' at Broad Green. Every Friday night before hitchhiking to Brighton for the weekend, we would go to 'The Star' and see Kenny Ball, Chris Barber and Ottalie Patterson, Acker BIlk and Humphrey Lyttleton.
We then used to go to The Aquarium in Brighton and see them all again and sleep on the beach and then off to Applejohns a local cider bar. Then back on the train on Sunday arvo, ready for work next morning.
Such memories eh, Willo?

Judging by the twin headlamps, I'd say it was a custom painted Capri. But it's a fuzzy pic.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

I remember the Millets being there, as my parents used to buy us our camping stuff there for cub/scout camp. Would have been the 60s

look at those prices 1

Ha ha , yeah the prices look good. not so much when you were lucky to take home £100 a week.

What interests me about the wine list, it's how comprehensive and diverse it is, compared to today.
German wine = Leibfraumilch
Spanish wine = red
Portugeuse wine = rose
And a diverse French collection including, Chablis and Sauternes.
Gosh, we thought we were all so very posh and cosmopolitan back then

I disengage, I turn the page.

yes.
i was on 100 a week , 5 days in '79 then the shop was taken over and the new owner made me do 6 days for it, as he thought it was a lot !
most pubs only had a couple of bottles wine in this strange display cabinet on the wall, as you say, usually blue nun Liebfraumilch.

Also once known as Tiffanys, I saw Queen live there

What can this strange device be?
When I touch it it gives forth a sound.
