As even the most fervent of the "take back control" mob admitted that we would suffer an economic hit, there is no need for too much predicting. Whether you wanted a Brexit, or not, did not depend on whether you thought the UK would benefit financially. That it hasn't and will take many years to get back to where it was, with the pandemic making that worse, only adds fuel to the argument. If you haven't noticed the price rises and stock shortages, would you kindly tell me where you shop because I have. I will predict that the inflation rate will rise quite steeply this year. Taking years isnt a failure though! After these years we could be better off. How is that a failure?

If you think speaking the truth is pompous, then OK, you are entitled to your opinion, but it's rather a sad one. In my opinion, of course. I would much rather be regarded as pompous by you, than be regarded as incapable of understanding obvious facts, which is how I regard you Not pompous at all!! Lol

I believe your first statement. You don't trust anyone who is an expert unless they happen to agree with your world-view. The second is simply wrong. My approach is grounded on hard facts and a lifetime of experiences, including some pretty hard knocks along the way. These people are not experts in anything other than personal gain and axe grinding. Your second staement simply displays you own self delusion. You are not remotely interested in facts other than when trying to obfuscate them with mealy mouthed tripe.

There you go again, dismissing any opinion which doesn't match yours as only for "personal gain and axe grinding" and "mealy-mouthed tripe". Could there be any clearer evidence of bias? You really are on another planet when it comes to an objective analysis of events.

Don't think you will find I have ever used "personal gain and axe grinding" and "mealy-mouthed tripe" or anything quite as insulting in my posts. I try to reason things out rather than just attack the poster. It does, of course, depend on the quality of the contributions. Thoughtful ones deserve, and I hope, receive respect. Others, like those from the poster who has just joined in, do not, especially as they have been preceded by a long series of similar banality. The worst you get from me is "ridiculous" or "stupid" but only when, in my view, there are no better ways to describe things.
