Let's deal with the ridiculous excesses and make sure dangerous perverts don't take advantage of change that benefits others. Then allow some time to pass, so things can settle, and an equilibrium be reached.

We can do that easily by acknowledge there is a conflict between the rights of women/girls and the rights of transwomen.

The rights of women and children to have a safe place to get changed and use the toilet outweighs the rights of transwomen.

That's all the silent majority is really asking for.

There is a degree of subjectivity involved here. If my daughter had this merchant parading around in front of her I doubt I’d be that sanguine.

I have to smile at the supporters of 'moderate' social liberalism who are aghast that it inevitably goes too far.

There's a wanton blindness to the statistics. A permanent attachment to 'this feels right' because it tickles their egalitarian core. There's a deliberate ignoring or excuse culture over the practical results of social changes.....some even go so far as to say they are desirable as they suit some other larger goal.

The moral of the story is that the 'slippery slope' is not always a logical fallacy. It depends upon how much money and propaganda is put behind ideologies.

The 'silent majority' have been talked about for generations. Let history tell you just how effective they have been in ever stopping anything they were against.

This kind of thing cannot be permitted, and no compromises are possible.

I expect the lines to be redrawn so that a sensible balance can be found which is acceptable to the majority. Those on the extremes, whether perverts or anti-lgbt activists, will just have to accept it.
