Very true Hrolf. My wife has recently been watching Ancient Aliens on TV and, whilst I remain somewhat sceptical, there are some strange phenomena out there that seem very difficult to understand from a purely rational standpoint. Amongst the rubbish, there are some interesting things on that programme that really make you think. There are also historical/ archaeological things that are not satisfactorily explained. I think I've probably seen them all now. That Puma Punku or whatever it's called is really weird. The lines and architecture are amazing and could not have been done with hand tools, or even done easily with modern tools. Plus the spacemen in crafts or suits pictures everywhere, makes you wonder what these people were depicting. However, impossible to prove anything as usual.

All very fascinating and ever so slightly bizarre.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

I think Ancient Aliens sometimes stumbles on things might just be evidence that our take on history is inaccurate and that humanity or someone before us were capable of things that we have been unaware of. I'm more inclined to go with the Graham Handcock take on these things, but I suppose that if you entertain the idea of alien visitation in the modern era, then you can't completely dismiss it in the past or its potential influence.

Never heard of it before so quickly 'Wikipedia-d' it! Exciting life I lead... And I always thought Bolivia was mysterious for it's geographical positioning yet lack of famous, world class footballers! Might be altitude or summink!
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Read an article in an Archaeological magazine that many ancient platforms, which we thought were carved stone, are actually some kind of cement polymer. Including the red platforms at Puma Punku. The pyramid platforms appear to have been poured too. [Link]

I'll let the US navy know. Just out of interest. What exactly would you see in the sky that you wouldn't understand?

Time travel would explain it all and is probably more plausible than little green men from outer space .
