What worries you is that she couldn't see at the start that it was a non starter.

She had eaten away her own support a long time ago....it's probably why she's dropping out. To spend more time eating with family.

Depends. Yes, she probably knew her chances of winning were slim but if she can now wield a block of votes, has the chance to secure a new place in whatever Shadow Cabinet gets formed.

I was being a tad mischievous

But you are of course correct.

It does make sense to run for exactly the purpose of positioning.

And I hope she succeeds. British politics needs more Thornberry. She must be worth at least 10 seats for the Tories.

She would make a policy and vote against it.
Weird really.

Beyond weird. She promoted a policy that destroyed Labour. And yet these are meant to be the smart people. She is living embodiment of the myth that somehow the Remoaners were the smart ones. Thick as s***, every single one of them. Just the maths told them that.

Rather than focusing on the percentages of the actual referendum, they should have studied the constituency break down of both the referendum and then the Euro elections. That was the reference against which to ascertain the best manifesto stance to adopt, let alone poll after poll which showed people against a second referendum.

Essentially Labours policy was the VERY WORST one. Shockingly bad in a way that will be taught in political classes for decades to come. Against a background of a country sick to death of Brexit these geniuses decide that offering even more of it is the best course of action.

Beyond moronic. With the beauty being that Kier Starmer was just as guilty as Thornberry of pushing this. And looking like to lead Labour! LOL. f***ing beautiful. Rewarding stupidity. I love the Left at the moment.

More guilty apparently he was the architect of the policy, he doesn't strike me as a man with a vision that will inspire the voters.

How hard is it to be a Labour leader? Focus on the needs of the less well off / working classes understand their issues and develop policies accordingly.

I may have told this story before a friend was invited to a listening summit at no 10 when Blair was in power (he wasn't present). She is very much a Labour supporter but told me they weren't interested in listening to any other views in the room they had already made up their minds about policies.

I suspect the same applies to today's Labour party. They know what's best for the country it's just that us poor voters are too stupid to understand their right.

Whoever wins out of this shower will not be PM unless Boris really screws up.
