Don't fret Jankinsons on his way, and before the police come on I wanted to spell it that way.

Hudson Odoi can never replace Zaha at this age. Maybe 3-4 years down the road. I doubt he could even score or assist a couple more than Lookman in the league, even if given playing time.

As for Cahil and Llrente, I'd put it differently:

Cahil- sure, why not?

Llorente-meh (cause a striker is more important to the table position at the end than a 3rd or 4th choice center back)

It could be that Wilf leaves in the last 2 days of the window. And then we're really f***ed

Parish would never allow that to happen unless he had a suitable replacement lined up

We are a professional Premier league club which, should have a comprehensive International scouting network in place with the purpose of identifying the appropriate talent according to the Clubs brief on an ongoing basis; do the necessary due diligence prior to making informed decisions and sign.

Clearly we are struggling with this.

We are a PL Club but don't have PL infrastructure.Just consider the aged ground and the sub-standard facilities, the Training Ground and of course we don't have a Category One academy etc etc etc.

There is a great deal of disquiet and disillusionment about and I have not met a single supporter in pre-season who believes we will beat Everton on the opening day.Doom and despondency all-round.

Still nothing.

I don't care if we sign ten players in the next two weeks I don't like this.

I'll wait a while for hysterics however.

.....which brings to mind Ian Holloway's headless chicken recruitment in 2013, almost entirely consisting of players who had never been heard of before and were never heard of again. Slight exaggeration perhaps, and let's not forget that we finished mid-table in 13/14.

yes he cannot match zaha but we're not linked with other wingers of that type (and surely Odoi can match Ayew's numbers and even Schlupp's). Sure, we can think of any of the wingers you mention in your reports, but I see us trying to bring in as much loan quality as possible, and in that regard Odoi would be a good addition. maybe Chelsea will give us Kennedy, which isn't a lot, but at least he has had some Prem exposure.

As for Llorente, I can see him dealing with those tangled box situations better than Benteke or Wickham. Sure, it'd much better to bring in a striker 10 years younger with at least a good season in him in a top-10 league, but why spend money, eh.

As for Cahill, if he's willing to be this year's Hangeland or flamini that's fine, but it feels like he'd want to play more and will want quite serious cash (even 1/2 of his chelsea wage will be a lot for us).

I know ill get ripped for moaning but i am so fed up with Palace's transfer approach.
We leave everything to the last minute which gives players no time to build chemistry with each other.
All these teams with similar statur to us are going out and signing top quality players.
E.g West Ham and Haller, Newcaste and Joelington, Wolves and potentially Cutrone.
I havent heard us getting linked to one top quality player let alone make any progress with signing one.
(not including Saint Maximm as this will only happen if we sell Zaha)

Then to hear rumours with us getting linked with Carl Jenkinson really aggrevates me.
We have lost a top quliaty attacking RB and want to repalce him with a RB who could only get 7 league games for Birmingham in 2017-18.
Is this a joke?

Here's my prediction. 4 signings, Ayew, Jenkinson, Austin and 1 other. With Zaha departing.

All very disappointing really.

Agreed! Can't help but believe Zaha would want to leave partly because of lack of ambition and success in transfer market activity. We'll be relegation fodder if he does given kingmaker status for us.

And there's the 4th - Mccarthy, we are such a joke in the transfer market.
