I really can't agree that Everton were a mediocre team. It wasn't just that we played badly or without ambition, we were forced into mistakes time after time by their high tempo pressing game. Our players aren't good enough to play their way out from the back against good players who press quickly. I'd say it's got much more to do with the quality of our players rather than the manager. Against teams like Burnley, Fulham, Cardiff, Huddersfield we've done OK at home (10 points) because none of those teams have got players good enough to knock us off our game. We don't have a God given right to 3 points against teams in the Everton, Leicester, West Ham bracket but have got 5 points from them. The big disappointments have been Newcastle, Southampton and, obviously, Brighton (1 point).

I am not going to read the previous posts on this thread ... but Everton were superior in every respect. Apart from the first five minutes of the game we were awful. We came away with a point because Everton failed to put the ball into our net which is just as well because we were never going to hit the back of their goal. Awful display from Palace that just about sums up the $hite they have delivered all season to their hone supporters. Rubbish and a waste of effort, time and money going to see them!!!

Fully agree, that why we to invest in some new players over the summer, lets hope we do not add Bournemouth to that list and win our last game at home to give the fans a good send off for the summer!

I watched the extended highlights as I couldn't go yesterday. We may be safe but there are still places to play for, with increased prize money for each better finishing position. Therefore all these games are important to the club and its finances therefore unfair to have a go at Roy he still has his job to do!

Give over, not a shot on target and 35% possession at home? Compared to their 22 attempts and 65% possession? That's not anyone's definition of giving anyone a game. I really don’t know what you are moaning at because as far as I am aware you handed in your season ticket a while back.

It was without doubt a shocking game but another clean sheet with our third and fourth choice centre backs and ultimately a decent point.

Everton targeted Zaha expertly and in doing so controlled us perfectly they had all eleven players disciplined and organised compared to the players Hodgson has to choose from ..you only need one weak link and we had four against them!! Thankfully their shooting boots didn't match their organisation.

Yes we defended very well considering it was against Sigurdsson and Richarlison, if we had those two up top we would have been safe yonks ago even though half our squad can be very poor at times.

About a couple of years ago I heard he was manager at Southport but I really don't know if he is still at the club. I believe the first time I saw him in our colours was at a pre-season friendly at Carshalton Athletic a game in which Ray Wilkins also played for us.I recall Preece as very left-footed and not that good in the air for someone of his size.
