Yes. It would mean the world to me to win an actual trophy, especially the fa cup. I'd take relegation and win the cup every time, finishing 11th in the league doesn't even compare.

Too right it doesn't compare.

Only the PL provides money to pay silly wages to expensive players. Get ourselves relegated and we're probably going to be a long time dead. Whoopee if we have a good run in the Cup but our PL survival has to come first.

Excellent dogged defending from a make shift back 4. Ground out the win well and deserved it. Atmosphere was awesome in the Holmesdale, cracking job by the HF and decent pre match entertainment. Great day all round.

As for winning the cup over Premier League status... cup every time. When I’m lying on my death bed one day, I want to remember the day Palace lifted a trophy. Not how we achieved mid table obscurity in Premier League for 10 straight seasons. Do we really care if we get relegated one day? As long as we have a team, I’ll be supporting them, regardless of what division we’re playing in.

Wins breed confidence, it’s a welcome distraction. Not many Prem teams left, we’ve got a chance of going all the way. We don’t often have chances to win trophies, we’ve got to go for it now.

He had a poor game, however;

He got the cross in for the game defining pen, plus - space. What I mean by space is he regularly has 3 players around him - if nothing else that opens up space for others. That is worth a lot.

Yes Wilf's performance took the edge off a great display from the other team members today. His attitude today was abysmal,I was screaming for Roy to sub him as he obviously did not want to know today.Perhaps he had the hump at not being rested like some of the other players. As far as I'm concerned we should sell him as he is not bigger than the team.He should hang his head in shame when he watches his performance, and look at how much effort Andros put into that game,I thought he was magnificent today, one of his best games in a Palace shirt.

Agree with goal machine, let's take this theory one step further- would you take 17th (and below Brighton) and cup, or 9th and above Brighton but out in 5th round? See no reason why we can't go for it and retain our prem status.

So football is all about the money. For me it’s about the glory. I loved it when we won the ZDS. I love our trips to Wembley, and if we actually won the cup I would take relegation. Palace are a team that will get relegated at some point anyway whether we like it or not.

Great result - good play on the break - some great performances - in particular for Andros and Jules but also Wickham who looks way better than Benteke (didn't think I would ever say that!).
Van Aanholt had once of the worst 90 minutes I have ever seen a Palace player have - he can only do better.
I saw Wilf briefly after the game - he didn't look best pleased for some reason.
Hey ho - good day at the office - roll on the next ten days - very important games to say the least!

Liking your posts generally but I absolutely can’t agree with that. At all.

Sorry, old chap.

Wilf poor, Andros magnificent, PVA poor Speroni magnificent. Centre backs good, Meyer good, lots to be cheerful about. However, as much as I would like to go on a cup run I would not swap that for being in the premier league and I cannot believe some people are saying that but hey each to their own.

Well done Palace, good result today

Very happy with the result but happiest of all is Wickham rediscovering his touch in front of goal. Absolutely delighted for him.

you have to be joking Benteke put more of a shift in his short time on the field than Wickham did in the whole game but saying that it was good to see him score AT man of the match

I agree completely. Benteke out sprinting Sanchez down the line was a great sign because I havn't seen him run flat out for a
Long time. Roy said after the game that if it was a league game then Awey would have started ahead of Wickham.

It wil be next year (if ever) when we see the best of Wickham, but am feeling excited about Benteke

Think the criticism of Wilf is harsh. He's been playing most of the season as a loan striker and had virtually no service. I think due to this, his mindset has changed slightly because of feeding off scraps he's trying to do too much. I think a few games back out wide where he see's a bit more of the ball and with a striker for him to look to will help his game massively.

It must be hard for him at times to be the player with the most natural ability on the pitch but to rarely see the ball and when he did get it have no option but to try and beat a few players as we had no support around him.

With Wickham and Benteke back, I expect him to start getting back to his previous form and better.
