Small margins , Like others losing to the Scum is very tough to take and believe a lot of discontent now is due to the loss.Im my opinion we have been playing relatively well up to the Brighton game and with any luck would be on 20 points already. Let’s look at the situation after Xmas and then can see weather Roy’s the man to take us forward . Like everyone else believes we do need a striker but can anyone definitely say who on our budget who will guarantee us goals ? .Really think the board are waiting on Benteke or Wickham to produce and f they do will add a couple of decent squad players and try to offload the rubbish. In my opinion the safest option.

That really is a tired and trite excuse that needs to be consigned to the knackers yard. The only club in the PL who ever uses that as it's reason for lack of transfer activity. We're in our sixth season in the PL and have done FA in that time to increase our revenue stream (if that really is the problem). Instead of devising a realistic plan for increasing capacity we've come up with some fantastical scheme that, it's rapidly becoming obvious, is never going to happen. Other clubs manage to improve their infrastructure whilst in the Championship (and below), yet we can't manage it after six years of PL megabucks. A long hard look needs to be taken at exactly how the finances of the club are managed.

I could never listen to HOL Radio interview him - so sycophantic and cringing

I’m amazed Hodgson is under fire from anyone. Performances have generally been decent, we just can’t stick it in the onion bag as we have no goal scorers. The Beneteke situation is sad as he used to be such a great striker and his confidence has gone. Sorloth was a poor signing and is woefully off the pace. Ayew looks awful and has a reported attitude problem. If either one of Benteke of Wickham come back firing (doubtful), we’ll shoot up the table. He’s not had much of a budget to work with and outside of the starting 11, there are no game changers we can bring off the bench. He’s doing well with what he has. Blame has to lie with the transfer policy as we have too many average players on high salaries and therefore a lack of depth. The signing of Rakip and Jach in particular were completely bizarre.

Yesterday was a rank performance, no doubt. But it was unexpected. The first goal is always very important and the outcome could have been very different had we not had conceded that dodgy penalty.

I don’t think the league table is a fair reflection of the way we have played this year.
