This post has been merged from a topic called 'What game were you all watching???' by Midlands Eagle Thought we done ok. They had 3/4 on Zaha all game, we were in it, until the 3rd went in, not many will win at Chelsea this year. . They brought on Hazard, we brought on Ayew, slight difference in squad depth.

I can’t see Parish getting rid of Roy. I don’t personally want him out at his moment in time. I think in the world of the old school league of Pulis, Pardew & Sam Etc., Roy is a lot better. The worrying thing, however, is if it does reach a point where things get really bad, I see this becoming a Pardew 2.0 situation, as I said, I really can’t see Parish getting rid of him without a hell of a lot of resistance first. Bingo. No way on earth Parish sacks off Hodgson until the bitter end. I think he wouldn’t even fire him if we went down. Look at how long it took with Pardew and Holloway - managers he liked. Sure he fired FDB after 6 minutes 43 seconds but that is not his normal behavior. Let’s face it, we will probably turn this around, but we need to spend in January and actually sign a proper striker. I still believe deep down that RH will sort this mess out, but he has NOT been helped by the transfer dealings of late, which have been p@ss poor for the most part.

Think the Arsenal draw and performance has got him some more time. But murmurings are happening- you can see that on this board alone. Something positive needs to happen soon otherwise he'll be gone by Christmas imo Hire them and fire them doesn't build a team. Howe was struggling at Bournemouth last season, no talk of getting rid of him. Dyche took Burnley down, they stuck with him and both have paid dividends for both.

Even in the first half against Fulham we weren't great Maine eagle. But I see some signs of improvement and we are, I reckon, better with Meyer than without. The Fulham game is the only one against a team around us where I think we acquitted ourselves pretty well. Regarding Meyer, if the alternative in his position is Jeff Schlupp, I would happily see Steve Coppell dust off his boots ahead of the Dutchman.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'What game were you all watching???' by Midlands Eagle We were hardly "the better team" but we were no pushover and if we had kept our concentration a point wouldn't have been undeserved.

I agree with this. Hodgson won't stick around for another season if we go down.

'In Roy we Trust' but his poor management of substitutions is costing Palace. He hands the initiative to the opposition each week. We should get fresh legs on earlier, not just for a cameo but to put the opposition under stress and bolster the defence too. As soon as the Chelsea subs appeared the concentration went and really surprisingly we just fell away. If RH is tired it is hardly surprising, but we do look like some of those England pedestrian non-creative displays. We didn't get Abrahams but I think Zaha needs a partner and really Kalkai has had a bad deal from Palace. They should play him and give him a proper chance, not just chucked on for a few minutes.
Not even on the bench again. This is what I don't understand - Hodgson brought on AWB at the end of last season and he has done really well, but he won't given any other youngsters a chance. You look at the bench today and there were no options for changing the game. As others have said, we have stood still or gone backwards whilst other teams have progressed. Sorry, but we really need to get in a younger manager with fresh ideas.

If Palace lose on Saturday think the crowd might turn on ROY Why would that be? He can only deal with what he's given. I think we are more confident on the ball and with our passing than we've ever been, but you can't legislate for injuries and individual mistakes. Both of which are out of Roys hands.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'What game were you all watching???' by Midlands Eagle I was watching the game where we huffed and puffed and scored a decent goal. We also conceded three soft goals and couldn't mark properly from set pieces. A draw was possible if we could play for 90 mins of a game.
