We got away with it today, but FFS we were still clinging on for grim death for half an hour after having taken a two-goal lead. And very nearly dropped two points again.

Yes exactly. That’s why I don’t get the bizarre, hostile response. We weren’t perfect today, Roy in his comments after the match said you could almost see that we were lucky to cling on.

True. But maybe this is part of “things evening themselves out” as ‘they’ say.

We were anything but perfect in that second half but that was a real pressure game and we won!!
The record books will say so and for once I don’t care how we did it.

I wrote Benteke a letter saying keep your chip up, you will come into form with two goals against Bournemouth.

I don't think it's been the confidence booster I imagined

Those two should both have been sent off today. Pathetic bottle job by the ref.

Dunk could have been sent off twice. 4 bookable offences . Won all the headers at corners and mugged us though.
Saw pva marking Murray at one corner, f**k me that’s so amateur.

Never seen 2 so different half’s.
First was unbelievable, so good. 3-2 was never a true reflection.
Second half was f**king pathetic, soo s**t. Keeper couldn’t keep the ball on the pitch, our players seem to have forgot to pass to each other.

Yeah we lost our nerve in the second half. I think the players were just too anxious about conceding an equaliser and just decided to defend and not bother with football. It didn't really work, as they missed two point blank chances. Just as well they have as bad finishers as us eh!

The result is what mattered, but hanging on like that is not great. First half we should have been out of sight, and we let them off the hook.

We have the battling qualities to stay up and that was a massive step We took today....

We seemed to suffer from losing our urgency when we were ahead - you see it all the time when a side are one up their attacks lack conviction - natural that happens but you've got to be more in the zone - they broke on us to make it 3-2 from an 'attack' of ours that had no conviction whatsoever - we had no real intention to do anything with the ball, but instead of going back and switching to the other wing or something along those lines we ran into a dead end, inevitably lost the ball and were not in position because of the general indecision about attacking or defending - we've had issues with late goals and 'game management' recently - we went two up and then went to sleep TWICE - that needs to be looked at imho.
