Yes the response time was amazing. Yes the police did a good a fantastic job.
But what if there were 2 or 3 incidents in different geographical parts of the met?

You are not going to be able to make that many cuts without suffering any sort of detriment. That isn't to say more police would have prevented what happened.

He also mentioned the prison service. there's been lots about radicalisation of petty criminals when inside in the news. Paring prison staff numbers to the bone will do nothing to help this.

I'll assume the default position of a nation is to NOT have armed police rushing from one incident to another, playing jihadi whack-a-mo(le).

To that end, creating an environment inhospitable to the cancer, and having rapid-detection and response to early-signs of a tumour is preferable to a permanent state of chemotherapy.
