We also come back to that class divide as touched on in the mccann thread. Some, not all, of those girls were from broken homes, pushed through the care system, in trouble with the police for other matters, runaway , tearaways and clearly vulnerable but could certainly in some instances been deemed a handful and bad news. That doesn't excuse the police ignoring them and them being abused in any way shape or form but people like that tend to be ignored. They're seen as trouble makers, by the social services and police forces, and largely ignored, being left to their own devices.

Anyone planning a copycat attack is unlikely to chose the same place again and what about All the other bridges, train stations, air ports etc etc etc ...... I really am surprised there haven't been other bombs in rucksacks / people blowing themselves up scenarios ,but I realise of course these could be what Danny refers to when making mention of foiled attacks. One day it will happen here as it does regularly in other countries. You can't stop people getting on a bus or train with a bag Where they're planning bombings, its easier to track and identify people. They need the chemicals, the time, the instructions and so on.

We have now sunk to a depth at which the restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men. [Orwell] |

Think about that 13 attempted terror attacks since the Belgium airport went tits up last year. Thats one a month every month for the past year. Then we have the gay abandon that a jihad-ist inspired e magazine is downloaded, over 50,000 times in the UK alone, not to mention the IS fighters that are from Britain that we allowed to just waltz back into the country after shooting at Nato soldiers in Syria, Afghan, and Iraq. The only surprise (hats off to the CI and SY communities), is that there hasn't been more of the same. I think the reason there hasn't been more of a Paris or Belgium incident, is that requires planning, supplies and a conspiracy - and that is the kind of thing that intelligence servce Should it be a potential crime - like downloading child p***.graphy. Its illegal to possess such documentation that is geared towards or assisting acts of terrorism. Problem is, how do you arrest and charge 50,000 people and where would they go. The prison system is chock full to the brim. With IS c**ts returning from Iraq and Syria, they should be arrested and charged, and convicted, with an indefinite sentence. Problem is how do you determine if someone has been in Iraq, Syria with IS or just been abroad.

Soap powder being one component It depends on how certain you want to be of it going off, and how stable you want it when making it. Realistically, most effective home made bombs tend to be based around Hydrogen Peroxide for Islamist groups, with Acetone. You could try mixing hair dye with nail varnish remover, but its very unlikely to explode and if it does, will do so with little force. The problem is, that this degrades quickly as an explosive (which is why the second group of tube bombers failed in 2007), and the process of separating out hydrogen peroxide from bleach etc is extensive and smells, plus you need quite a lot of it, to get a reasonable amount of explosive - and if you get it from a chemical supplier, its very suspicious. Whilst acetone is in nail varnish remover, its not pure in quality, so either you have to extract it, or buy a lot of acetone in bulk - which is a big warning flag (as its also used to purify cocaine). The Provos tend to use Ammonia Nitrate fertiliser / sugar mix to create explosives, which was hard to identify because of the numbers of farms that used fertilizer in the Republic and North of Ireland, but its a very high risk to mix, as a single spark can ignite the lot, and its a much more powerful explosive. Oddly it was the purchase of plastic shovels that tended to single out suspect farms, rather than the quantity of fertilizer.

They took sodium chlorate off the shelves a few years back and a little tub of the stuff was £1 only thing that kills my weeds... selfish b******s

There seems to be enough internal individuals planning and trying to execute attacks. However, getting things like assault rifles into France is probably a lot easier than into the UK due to the border controls here, and the fact that smuggling routes tend to be less sympathetic (i.e. the Moroccan-France and Spain drug routes tend towards Muslim based organised crime - where as smuggling routes into the UK aren't). That said, I'd imagine that a number of the IS fighters returning will need to smuggle themselves into the UK - and that could construe a smuggling network set up to support Islamist logistics. Which presumably would include smuggling firearms from the European Continent.

I thought this was all pretty much common knowledge. There are countless internet and books out there, Islamist and otherwise, that detail how to make all manner of weapons and explosives.
