The simple defensive change that has been obvious for weeks seems to have made all the difference. What Delaney lacks in ability he makes up for in heroics, which is what you need after 6 losses and Ward looks fairly comfortable at LB (well, compared to Kelly anyway!)

Puncheon dominated the midfield in the second half and Bentenke put a good shift in. Also, is it just me or has Sako lost about four stone?

Great result and I'm hoping as one of the lonely supporters of Pardew that this will see a reversal of fortunes.

..a reversal of luck because that is all it has been, how we allow ourselves to be managed by someone who has got us three points behind today's opponents with the exact same goal diff is beyond me, these so called fans have obviously not experienced the beautiful moments with Shrewsbury......those were really the good old days.

Hope this is a start of a couple of good results and a big match away next week, which I believe we approach in a more confident state.
Well done Pardew.

It won't be, Pardew is still at he helm and he's still a SH*T Manager.

I have not been someone who is baying for Pardew's head, but it seems pretty obvious that we have been lacking leadership on the pitch. Whose fault is that? I suggest Pardew is responsible for not recognising or sourcing a leader on the pitch. Scott Dann's game has suffered after taking on the captaincy and we have sorely missed Mile Jedinak's leadership, if not his technical ability.
For the moment, let's breathe a sigh of relief and look forwards rather than backwards. After all, we could be Wet Sham fans

..too right!

tbh a loss probably is what we needed today. Looks like parish will go back to licking pardews backside again if we win. Still think big sam is the best option. Pardews record is completely shocking, any other team would have got rid weeks ago

..yep, playing as we are in non league is the shit isn't it.

I'm not concerned so much about possession as you have to give that up to stop other teams scoring against you. This must be our priority and then strike on the break, its more important to win 1-0 than lose 5-4 as points in the bag is what is needed not entertaining football and keep losing!

Nice job Einstein.

..yep, very sadly he gets too involved and upsets the flow, you can understand it because quite obviously he is a brilliant player but this league takes no notice of someone who used to be able to nip around thinking before most, we do occasionally see it but I feel we see too much frustration from him due to the fact he can't, he should only play when we are not desperately needing to dig and hold on, having him before at Newcastle when he was a bit younger is doing neither any favours.

Yes, I was just saying exactly the same thing to a fellow fan. I'm not sure how Cabaye fits into the picture.

Both Puncheon and MacAthur are playing far too well to be replaced by him and, in both cases, they seem to suit the position in which they are playing.

Ledley is the most obvious candidate to be dropped to make way for Cabaye. But, despite being generally critical of his quality, I thought Ledley did really well today. My feeling is that Cabaye would upset the balance of midfield and slows things down.

I say go for the same line up at Hull.

Hello Marie Le Pen,

PARDEW IS STILL A SH*TTY MANAGER and today's win doesn't encourage me about our form going ahead. Toady we won a singular battle so an A**HOLE could keep his job, but in the end we lost the war because we didn't sack the turd burglar when we had the chance.

A National Front memeber.

PS, I'm not a typical U.S. Citizen who doesn't know jack f***ing squat about what is going on in the world. I know because I pay attention and read.
