After watching the Villa game, any striker with an eye for goal will do! EA, if he comes, just a short-term deal to begin with. But he will work his socks of and look at his CV - impressive. Will not disrupt our dressing-room, too many strong guys there to shut him down anyway.

He's a great player on his day but they are few and he's a disruptive element who can cause a lot of problems in the squad. If we have to sign him then rest of the season and out, please don't give him a proper contract.
The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years |

I would like to point out that Emmanuel means 'God with us'. I think 'God help us' is more apt. (Unless of course God thought that the answer to AP's prayers was Adebayor.)
So I manage a Workshop which provides a safe learning environment for blokes struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues. Being a Palace fan isn't listed yet. |

I know many here have reservations for good reasons but my own view is that this would be a fantastic signing. Adebayor fit and firing is an order of magnitude better than any striker we've had at Palace in a long time. He's hugely talented, has Premier League experience, is capable of scoring goals for fun and has a point to prove. Yes, there are a lot of "ifs and buts" around attitude and motivation but I would take this gamble all day long. I'd also take him ahead of the majority of names we've been linked with at very high prices. I can see Adebayor as a focal point of our attack doing a serious amount of damage in the box.
Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God. |

My Spurs supporting son tells me that he only ever plays well when playing for a new contract and at most other times he can't be bothered to put the effort in. What's the point giving him a short term contract when it will take him most of the rest of the season to get match fit. Let's just hope that this is one of the many rumours that has no basis of truth in it - especially as Pardew has gone on record denying that there is any truth

Yet he has been on the market for a couple of years and no-one has been interested enough to take him and he has preferred to continue picking up his high wages and not play football rather than the alternative of earning less money but playing every week

Have you seen each of the offers he has supposedly received?
Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |

dya know what a few weeks ago I was rather worried at the thought of us signing him as I really don't think he's the answer and has many question marks over his desire to play and fitness, but if he's the best of what is out there, and it doesn't look like there is much available, then signing him on a free and having a pay-per-play contract can't be any harm, the worst that can happen is that we sign another non-goal-scoring forward and he's free to go at the end of the season. The best that can happen is that he bangs in a few goals up front and lets face it no one else in that position can do it at the moment (although I think Wickham will get there). We canthen make a more sensible bid for a longterm prospect in the closed season where we won't have to pay January window inflated prices.

I seldom rant; especially not on here, but FFS who really gives a toss about the media portrayal of this guy. If any player has spoken out regarding his so called "antics," reply to my post with the link. I'll then consume own words; and take it on the chin. Our goal scoring record from our forwards is nothing but humorous; not only on world standards; but the teams competing on a Sunday arvo in pub leagues around the world have strikers whom have scored more than one between them. It surely is the lowest total from recognised strikers anywhere on the planet. Sign this bloke up; end of year. If he bangs them in; great. If he doesn't; off he goes and we re-assess in the summer when our hand isn't as forced as it appears to be now. We're not going down; but there's a remote chance we're going "up" so to speak. We ain't got nothing to lose.

Let him play well for 5 months here to earn 100k contract at Stoke in the Summer then go there and do nothing like he usually does once his money is secured! When he wants to turn up he is possibly the best striker we'll have ever had at the club. 100 goals at Arsenal City Real Madrid and Spurs? Still only 31? Yes please
