This post has been merged from a topic called 'Charlie Austin (rumour)' by james03 Is Austin worth £15m? Adjust for last year of contract = £15-20m And worth every penny.

You'd imagine, as long as we agree a fee with QPR, then the player would likely choose to stay in London. Not sure why you'd want to move to Leicester, especially given their lack of manager at the moment. Possibly the only attraction Leicester has is the end of season ladyboy tugging tour in Malaysia or the crisp factory....no way will he go there

Sky reporting Leicester have had a £12 million bid rejected by QPR. Come on Palace before someone else gets him. who is really going to pay much more than £12m? QPR are in danger of losing him for nothing at the end of next season. I'd be tempted to stay quiet on this and bid 12m plus some added value closer to the end of July when QPR will be sweating on it more.

I would rather bid the £15m get him in training with the rest of the squad.

If the manager wants him, and the club can afford it, then stop messing about, forget the cloak and dagger and just write a cheque for £15 million. If the manager doesn't want him, or the club isn't willing to meet either the club's or the player's demands, then fair enough, but being delicate here just allows someone else around us to strengthen. I can't think of many players for £15 million who tick as many boxes as Austin.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Charlie Austin (rumour)' by james03 I would've thought Austin would like to know what manager he is playing for before he joins. Leicester don't have one. C'mon Palace lets steal a march on shi**y Leicester and put in a bid.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Charlie Austin (rumour)' by james03 Don't believe the hype! Austin is a decent striker but not yet a proven striker in the Premier League. Yes he scored lots of goals in a s***e team but their problem never was scoring. They leaked goals. QPR are asking silly money as he is English. Did they pay that much a year ago? He is not that much better. I also love the way we as a fan group are now at the stage of 'It's only £15 million.' That's a lot of money. It's a fair chunk of a redeveloped main stand. It's never just about the money it's value for money.
