Latest rumour on BBS
Been told that we have bid 11.8 million for Remy, and if Chelsea except he could have his medical as early as Thursday. And the same source told me that if Remy comes ,Gayle is going to Bournemouth for 8 million.

Sounds plausible indeed. What an upgrade too for less than £4mill. Please happen God!

Agree. Gayley certainly won't have done his price any harm with his hatrick on Saturday. Would be a shame to see him go, but he doesn't fit into our side wheras Remy you feel would.

Supposing this transfer gets to a medical.

I remember the Liverpool transfer fall through due to a long standing injury he's got?

Chelsea can afford to take a risk like that on a 10m player.

Will we be able to take the risk if the injurys still there lurking in the background?

Hennessey all day long for me.
He's easily good enough imo.
WH#1, Jules#2 sounds perfect to me, but who knows what'll happen.

If we can land him as well, what a window this would be!!! I am looking a top 6 if this happens.....

10th again would be an excellent achievement. Top 6 no chance.

Cup run though is definitely doable with a favourable draw.

Yep and guess who did the medical at Liverpool... That's right, our new club doctor!

According to the times we have given up on him

I don't think the Times is right on this one.

Remy will be third/possibly fourth choice if he stays at Chelsea this season; and like Cabaye, wants and needs regular game time ahead of the Euros next year.

Plus there's the draw of playing for Pardew again; and hooking up with an old team mate in Cabaye.

I also expect he wants to stay in London; and feel certain we will agree a deal with Chelsea to sign him.

Its also worth noting that Amy EDS the beautiful ITK girl who said we'd sign Cabaye way before it hit the papers also said a few weeks back that Remy is on his way to us providing they sign Falcao. It is slso worth noting that she has said that Besiktas got in contact and are now favourable by Chelsea. Lets wait and see what we can do. Cabaye was always my number 1 target of the summer so regardless whether we sign Remy or not I will still be happy.

From what I saw of Remy last season I was not overly impressed. I would rather have had someone else.

Can't help but think people rate Remy because he's at Chelsea rather than for any good reason. I'm also nervous that selling Gayley will come back to bite us big time.

theres only remy or austin available for the quality to improve on what we have remy scored 7 goals in 853 minutes last season same ratio as murray really but if we had remy upfront for the whole season he will be a 20 goal striker and if what was suggested 2 pages back gayle to bournemouth having murray as backup is more then sufficient to compete for a top 10 finish again

Gayle's leaving us will bite us...

but hardly any team besides barca play a small guy up front alone these days.

So even when he scores 15, we must still step back and consider, well he can only ever play besides a target man.

This will be a great coup.
i have always thought he was a good player. and hopefully less than some others in the market,
i think Alan will get the best out of him as he did when at Newcastle
