No I totally agree with you about the public outrage if we hadn’t have locked down , but who was pushing for it? The press, every press conference they were saying this countries done that this countries done that, they couldn’t wait to have their little red banner saying “government order: stay at home” on sky news!
Make no mistake I’m not silly and I know there is a virus about that is killing people , but figures released today on “sky news” 90% of deaths over 80, 9% over 50 and 1% over 40.....
The media will jump on anyone under 40 which they have had to continue to scare the pants off our society

I agree that the media did seem to stoke hysteria with some of their reporting. Some outlets seemed to revel in reporting that there would be a lack of food etc, therefore leading to people stockpiling.
Don’t get me started on Piers Morgan, the way he interviewed Matt Hancock was nothing more than disgraceful, giving no thought to the fact that MH probably had been working non stop for hours on end
Too many people seem to want to score political points at a time when we should all be pushing in the same direction

My dear wife and I had the good fortune to undertake a round trip to Thailand on Qatar Airways Business Class and the service was exemplary.

The Business Class lounge at Doha airport was very impressive indeed, both in terms of the size and comfort but also with regard to the culinary delights and the customer service.

Qatar Airways always had a good reputation when at Gatwick. Was not impressed with Emirates Business Class but luckily it wasn’t my money being used to pay for it, so can’t complain

It's more than one line so clearly not you danh.

Stirling has been posting that he’s been ‘hearing’ things for a while. Worried it might just be the voices in his head and concerned for his welfare.

I have not flown with Emirates but I have heard some negative reports about them. Also positives!

I know that they provide a Chauffeur Drive service for their First and Business Class passengers transporting them to and from the airport.

Emirates have their own lounge at Gatwick which I hear is worthy of praise.Qatar's business class passengers use an airport lounge at Gatwick which is not that impressive.

The under 40s can still spread the virus, even if they are much less likely to die from it. So getting everyone to separate makes sense at the moment.

Maybe you should stop watching Sky and come back over to the BBC!

Exactly my sentiments. Without wishing too down play this too much what resonated with me yesterday was some guy on Twitter yesterday from NYC berating someone in the UK telling him that he'd seen NINE friends/colleagues pass away from Covid19!!!!!
When I happened to mention that I possibly knew as many people as him & that I also lived in NYC & I didn't even know anyone who'd even had a sneeze or a cough let alone die, I didn't hear back from him.
My real issue has been the drip, drip approach to Lock down.Just Lock down completely instead of doing it in dribs & drabs & punish severely those who don't comply so that the rest of us can get on with our lives.
I also happened to notice that a Labour MP deemed it proper to attend a funeral yesterday (with 100s of others)while the rest of us are stuck indoors.
Of course no one will call him out as he's a Muslim & he'll play that card for all it's worth

Did you also notice the labour leader harping on about the lack of funding in the NHS for the past 5 years, or notice the usa born CONservative pm, and his party, not providing PPE to the front line staff, and letting the Italian flights in to the UK unchecked until 2 weeks ago? just saying,,,,,,,,,,

Govt utilizing the publics servants to push through an agenda that will ultimately once again screw the public? You couldn't make it up............ah, but then again, didn't we see the very same public rolling over for the past 10+yrs to bail-out a parasitic financial system that robbed them?

I for one feel there is about to be a change in the way people think about one particular profession over here, and knowing the great british public, i think we can push a nice pay deal through for all the hard work in exceptional circumstances, for even making it in to work, let alone the hard grafting in
the line of duty, anybody else feel the bankers should get a hefty bonus in honour of there hard graft saving the country?

Yea I know they will spread it but this is what’s going to happen anyway, why not “lockdown” the elder generation and the vulnerable (which I totally agree with by the way my mum and dad were 2 of the 1.5 mill people recieving letter saying stay at home for 12 weeks) and let the rest of us carry on and build up immunity ? I don’t know nothing about science or politics but I genuinely don’t see any other way to beat this unless a vaccine turns up to the whole country tomorrow

They made that 'Big Short' film about the 2008 crash...though they left out the controversial bits.

I wonder what will happen when they come to film this.

I definitely think they could make something about the brave whistleblowers in China who suffered for their ethics.
