From what I've read from ITKs like Carl, this summer and next summer were always planned to be big windows for us, because we've now finally cleared a lot of our debts from previous purchases we made 3-4 years ago. It was no great secret as Parish said as much when he analysed the club's financial accounts a couple of months back

It’s some time ago now but there was the winter window where we signed PVA, Schlupp and Luka for a combined £40m. That was spending big...especially in a winter window. Bats is coming in on loan. Some of the links to lower league sides will carry nominal fees. I suspect we won’t spend big unless we sell big.

Mattteo I'm interested to know, what you thought of both of those players, before they joined there respective clubs last summer, and are there other foreign players, in your opinion, who could do a similar job.
I didn't believe in ASM and I still don't very much. He has 9 goals and assists for Newcastle, so he did a decent job, but not an extraordinary one. We'll see.
Moussa Barrow (Bologna) El Shaarawy (China) Callejon- no resale value, but free Keita Balde (Monaco) Thauvin (though left footed, Marseille)) Otavio (Porto) Emiliano Rigoni (though left footed) Taison (though old,Shakhtar) Embarba (though left footed, Espanyol) Moussa Diaby (though left footed, Leverkusen) Ryan Christie (though left footed, Celtic) Elyounoussi (though he flopped in the PL at Southampton, Celtic) Orsic (Dinamo Zagreb) Kevin Bua (Basel) Ivan Cavaleiro (Fulham) Idrissi (Alkmaar) Machis (Granada) Bouanga (Ligue 1) Jean Kouassi (China) Luis Diaz (Porto) Verbic (Dynamo Kiev) Joao Victor (Wolfsburg) Onyekuru (Monaco) Pavon (MLS) There are more but then the price goes up. Ismaila Sarr could replace Zaha, yes, but I wouldn't pay 38 million.

Spot on as usual, only way we will spend big is if Zaha goes, same people in January asking where all the money for Wan Bissaka has gone? We've hardly spent so far this window, so all this takeover stuff is a non starter, and owners putting there money is a non starter, this is all premiereship made money. I like your posts Hudsoneagle.
